No words on ROPs as well? 16 vs 32 (that's a 100% increase). ROPs are very important..

I think you're misunderstanding what is going on here.

No.  A GPU is parrallel.  Therefore CU's can run independent of each other.  I can have one CU running a job each clock cycle, and another running one job over 853 clock cycles.  Because those each of those CUs will reduce the time to run an operation, the effect of those savings become accumulative.  For example, @ 800GHz I wouldn't be able to run 1000 operations.    This means it's capable of running 57 more operations. 

PS4 1 CU @ 800MHz @ 943 operations per clock cycle
XB1 1 CU @ 853MHz @ 1000 operations per clock cycle

So, at the end of one minute.

PS4 1CU @ 800MHz @ 943 operations per clock cycle = 754,400 operations per minute. 
XB1 1CU @ 853MHz @ 1000 operations per clock cycle = 853,000 operations per minute.

98,600 operations more.  Or 105 more clock cycles to do the same amount of work.  That's a 12% difference in performance right there.  Not to mention, that's one CU.

The majority of people in this thread dont know what they talking about. Some people try and make it seem as they do but they always slip up with something so crazy that it just reeks of ignorance, bias and stubborness to be right.

It just happens that jusy about every Sony guy will argue with the OP simply because Penello is an MS employee. MS fans on the other hand will naturally defend what hes saying. But there is some serious factual errors in what Penello says. And its exactly whats happening. Xbox fans are in here defending what hes saying.

Adinnieken you yourself, an Xbox fan who usually takes part in technical discussions and tries to come off as technicall minded, made a completely factually incorrect statement about the GPU performance increase. I doubt you would have made those claims had Penello not made the comments he made in the GAF thread. This is why i feel sorry for Xbox fans in here. Im sure you respect Penello's statements as a fan but some of the stuff hes said is simply not true and unfounded.

Im sure you will argue against what im saying...but to be honest any tech novice who has any sort of legit interest in these things can see the fallacies in the statement Penello has made.

Anyways as I understand it modern day GPU's scale almost linearly with added gpu cores. Especially in tasks that favour parrallel processing. It just happens that a lot of what GPU's do gain from this.

CPU's on the other hand are not inherently like that.

I didn't attack any mod. I just don't think I need to justify why I think Penello is acting desperate. The same way any employee I have felt acted desperate in the past, like Tretton in 06, or Jaffe throughout the years. It's not trolling if I don't like a specific employee of any company and to be called out on it for trolling when it's an opinion is wrong.
