Why can't Nintendo die? Are they some sort of immortal company or what? Any company can die. Doesn't matter if they were around for a thousand years.
Money in the bank means nothing if customers aren't buying your products. Money in the bank don't raise your stock. As some American business person whose name I can't recall once said "sometimes in business it's better to keep the money, die and reborn than waste it trying to live"
However I don't see Nintendo dying anytime soon. As things stand they need a complete rethink of their situation because the plan they had in mind don't seem to be working very well.
Success and failure is all about decisions and Nintendo have some tough ones to make.
The Nintendo of the future may not manufacture hardware but Mario, Zelda, pokemon and their other games can live on any system so Nintendo will live on... at least as long as the public don't get fed up with Mario and Zelda in 20 years or so years.
