@Rocket and Evvil, very true, they will have many, MANY cars that most people really don't care about, but if they can nail the physics, I know for a fact I'd play around with a bunch of "theoretically realistic" purchases, or compare my car to my friends car, or see what enhancements I could put onto my current car etc etc etc.

I'd just like to think of it like you said earlier, options = good, no options = not good lol. Plus to me it just makes the game feel "more full", and after seeing some of there classic cars and such, I have very high hopes for this game :)

@Evvil, I feel no such aggression towards you, in fact I see why you like your respective series :P Neither of us is wrong, in an opinion topic your opinion is very valued, and thank you for at least posting valid points xD

Indeed, options are good. But I would rather see Polyphony go for Lambos and Porsches over 118 different versions of the Civic, which is a real option instead of a load of different colored cars with virtually the same hardware. And I hope that they give Euro & American cars a fair shake this time around (though they're better than they were in GT1). Sorry, a modded Skyline would get obliterated by a modded RuF Porsche. That's just the way things work here in the real world.

Anyway, I love GT, just as I love Forza. And each game has its pluses and minuses. But neither one is anywhere near perfect.

GT5 is closer to perfect the forza

What a well thought-out and articulate rebuttal.

Most of the people in this thread blindly defending GT can't even give one point as to why they think that way. My guess is that these people haven't even played Forza, making a reasoned comparison impossible.

Here's how I view it:

Track Selection: GT>>Forza

Car Selection: GT>>Forza (GT has a lot of junk but now they have every manufacturer I care about)

Game Progression: Forza>>GT (GT is far too repetitive IMO, Forza is much more balanced)

Graphics: GT>Forza (amazing stuff from GT)

Customization: Forza>GT (Paint, rims, everything can be tweaked in Forza, though GT basically matches it in performance mod options)

Online: ???

We'll see how well put together GT5's online system will be. It has some tough competition in Forza.

*edit: Just found a car list and apparently GT5 will have Lambos and Porsches. Yee-ha! That definitely puts the car advantage in GT's favor.

Agreed 100% Also Im not here to argue which is better, I wrestle with that myself. But I just couldn't sit here and read all of the misinformed posts and not jump in, not talking about yours Chrono. Really there is nothing more I have to say, Everyone if you haven't played forza you should give it a shot, but please stop putting it down with no experience of it. Thank you for your time and I hope to see you all online as soon as GT5 ships, I'd love to race with others so passionate about a game. PSN ID = evvil

There is a ton of misinformation out there about every new GT game before it is released.  Last I heard, the official word was that GT5 would have Ferrari, but not Porsche, and not Lamborghini.  If you have a reputable source for this information, though, I would be very glad to read it.  :)

Anyway, no Porsche and no Lambo is a bit of a drag.  But the variety of cars is simply huge, and they aren't all (or even most) Skylines and Lancers.  They have an extremely wide selection of manufacturers, with plenty of American and European cars.  Hell, they even have pickup trucks in GT4.

Hmmm... After Googling it again, the list may be a fake. I'll look into it more.

No Lambos or Porsches = teh suck.
