There is a ton of misinformation out there about every new GT game before it is released. Last I heard, the official word was that GT5 would have Ferrari, but not Porsche, and not Lamborghini. If you have a reputable source for this information, though, I would be very glad to read it. :)
Anyway, no Porsche and no Lambo is a bit of a drag. But the variety of cars is simply huge, and they aren't all (or even most) Skylines and Lancers. They have an extremely wide selection of manufacturers, with plenty of American and European cars. Hell, they even have pickup trucks in GT4.
