Forums - Gaming - Want to work in video games, be part of a studio ?

So guys, let's make it short and simple.

I am 23yold, and I already grew tired of my job. So I decided to start a video games studio. And I am very serious about this.

As you may all know, making a video game is easier than ever. Plus, it's the "right" moment to do so.

I know how to draw, I know all the programming stuff I need. I have a high degree in management/marketing ( from one of the most prestigious european school). Wich means, if you work with me, you will have to worry about nothing BUT making games. I will take care of the rest. I have been teached and briefed by some of the finest actual inde developpers. I have already worked in video games too.

I have already made bitter work in conceptualize my idea. I have even made contact with big editors, they've already look at my storyboards and gameplan. All I need is people.

I will be as straight as I can. Making video games is a way for me to reach as many people as I can. I don't care about making games for 1000 or 2000 peoples. I don't really care about forgettable experience or small games. My ambition are bigger. I want my studio to grow fair and fast. I know how to do it, I am a strong willed person, I will do it. But I need people as mad as me in order to make it.

You know how to use Unity, unreal engine, gamemakers and similar tools ?
You can create anything you want with Blend or similar tools ?

If you are, I am intersted in you. And of course, you'll not have to worry about money and living. Like I said, I take care of that.

I don't care if you have any experience at all, or if you have no degree. All I want, is people who can do the job fine.

I'm searching for ten person, already have two. So make sure to be quick about it, I've not only posted on vg chartz.

Is anyone intersted ?

I'd like to, unfortunately my knowledge only applies to scriptwriting and the creative side of the projects. I have some basic, basic experience with Unreal and Cryengine, but not enough to go out and make a small game, to say the least.

Good luck with your projects, though

same as above except the engine knowledge.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I have a degree in Computer Science and love programming. Due to my communication and client facing skills, however, I've spent about 10 years in IT doing roles where my primary focus isn't programming and I've grown tired of it. I have been working to retrain myself to do some indie development, though I'm only at the point of strengthening my core programming knowledge again, not to the point of working with gaming engines or anything like that.

At the very least, I'd be interested to hear more, and if there's not a fit today, I'd be more than open to one tomorrow.

I'm assuming you'd be okay with remote development, i.e. people wouldn't have to relocate?

Same as the above except any knowledge at all.

How in the world do you plan to pay people? Being indie means being poor 90% of the time. Good luck though.

I can give you advice and such, but I've already got my own game to work on.

Like I said, money won't be a problem. I have that chance, and my future partners could be sure that making game in my studio won't mean being poor.

But if you're curious, I'll give you one small piece of advice : If you're project is viable, and smell money/success, you'll get money VERY easily. I already presented my serious project and it's already been aprouved. That's part of the answer.

I don't know what your game is, but if you're talented, I need you. Forget your game if you do not think it will be big, and let's work with me instead.

We will work on one small project first for three weeks/one month, in order to test ourself and make our team work go the right way. Once it's done, we'll put our hands on a way much bigger project.

I forget to say that I also need one artist. I can do the things myself, but I need someone else since I'm also doing a lot of side things.

I need very talented people guys, and we will begin to work in three weeks.

And NO, people will not need to relocate. There's no need for that, you can work at your home, manage your own work if you want. All I need is the job done.

All I really know is hardware (in the sense of building computers & and knowing what does what) as that is what I plan on doing with my life, but you might not need such a person with all of the knowledge you have although if you need to ask any questions I can do my best to answer them free of charge :P.
Though I wish you the best and hope to see and play your games one day.

So you've already got a big publisher lined up that's paying in advance, just for an idea?

I'm of course intrigued to find out what this amazing game idea of yours is, so if you're serious can you fill me in? I'm not planning to just leave my project, but I could be persuaded.

Well someday I want to write story for a video game.
