And gets locked into an expensive arms race.

Which is good for us customers

Studios going under is good for customers?

Haha, thats a good one xD. Studios going under because standards for graphics are getting higher lol.

I now see why Naughty Dog, Epic and Polyphony are all going bankrupt... Its not like ND's new IP shipped 3 million copies 1st week

yeah, it's not like the increased costs caused countless studios to close since gen 7 began. Oh wait!

Bad buisness caused them to close, not better graphics. Otherwise all studios who made AAA games would have been closed by now

Not necessarily. As a consumer, I'd rather they focussed more on interesting new ways to play instead. Also not keen on paying an extra $100-$200 on a system just so I can play with shinier pictures.

Wii U is definitely your thing then.

Not yet. Once Donkey Kong Country comes out, it will be. ;)

And you call yourself a fan, hahaha.

Once you get one though, maybe your opinions will change (if you don't use dolphin). The power of the system really brings fresh air to the stylized graphics. Maybe it will convince you that even Nintendo games in 2013 would benefit from a lot more power.

So to be a fan you have to a buy a console before it gets the games you're a fan of? :p

I don't use Dolphin, so it will be interesting to see Nintendo's games in HD. I've played a few on a friend's Wii U; Nintendoland and NSMBU didn't impress, but Pikmin 3 is gorgeous.

No, the main thing that it does is boost PRICE. there's a point where increasing specs won't translate into better support/sales, it's a design thing to know what that point is and nintendo made the right choice.

What are you even arguing about here? That more powerfull hardware isn't an advantige and it wont attract more customers?

If more power was an advantage and atracted more customers, the more powerfull machines wouldn't be in last place every gen. I don't see it magically changing now.

they did the same business as always but higher costs closed them.

Someone's grumpy. Also 4BONE is ps4 + xbone, the next gen version of ps360/hd twins. I'm open to non fanboy submissions of better name combinations.
