Forums - Sony - Sonys VR headset...£1,299.00 Incl. Vat

If I would be rich... I would buy the HMZ-T2, T3 doesn't look like a big improvement apart from the materials and is a lot cheaper.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

This is going to flop at that price...

Because they are obviously expecting to sell 1 million a second marite?

Don't you usually reserve that kind of sarcasm for Vita threads.

No, I reserve it for anyone who judges an item on how much it sells.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

That won't be the price for a PS4 pair I don't think and they will still be expensive even if cheaper, not to mention, 720P? pffft.

Yeah the PS one will ONLY be about the same price as the PS4.

Well at €400 it won't be too far off the OR. So if it works for PC and PS4 I could see a lot of PC gamers getting the sony one instead so it could be used with both.

I hope it is a partnership with OR. Won't happen though.

The MHz-t1 and t2 where about £500 and £600 I think and they were set to "revolutionise gaming" according to Sony back in 2011. This new one will suff a similar fate even at say £400

You're right that this particular device will not become a huge success. That's because those are not "VR headsets" as the thread title claims (apparently, the thread starter falsely believed this to the PS4 VR headset); they are "Personal 3D Viewers" and are rather useless, especially considering the price tag. Pretty much all they offer is 3D, but hardly anyone will buy a 1300 pounds "Personal 3D Viewer" in times when you can buy a 50" 3DTV for less than one third of that price.

IF Sony will actually release something for the PS4, it will be...

  • an actual VR headset (= it will have head tracking technology - "Personal 3D Viewers" without head tracking technology are rather pointless for gaming)
  • cheaper
  • at least several months until

I think the first one was £800 and the second was £1200 (I was looking at the first one when it was announced)

i like the idea, not the price
