Sounds more like manufactured shortages for pre-orders. Headline: "XBOX ONE PREORDERS SOLD OUT!!!" because they are holding some back for the walk-ins.

This.
Either take the day off or call out of work and receive it in persom from a online order. Don't deal with the mobs at stores, people get robbed and shot all the time over console launchs.
It's just that simple.
not everybody buys stuff online. on top of that the most consoles are sold in the us on blackfriday. so why not funnel them where the most people will buy them instead of europe where they dont care for xbox anyway? is it yield or common sense? .

so that would mean the same thing for sony if there are any ps4s on shelves then?

I don't see how any spin is necessary. See my other post. People thinking that this means low pre-orders haven't thought things through. But this is the typical response expected in a positive Xbox One thread on the internet. |
It's necessary because the point of spin is to show things in a positive light and avoid negative interpretations of facts. Something that MS are failing to do a lot lately.
Also we know the XBone has lower pre-orders already which is why this fails at spin. They are trying to spin away (the probably not true) yeild problems by saying that they will have plenty of stock left over. Which to most people read as there is more stock than demand, which is a negative, or the alternative interpritation of the quote we don't have enough supply unless they devert stock to fewer reigons (hence yeild issues because they can't make enough for as many reigons as Sony). It's bad spin plane and simple.

Just ignore them guys. They aren't going to stop
But what if I can't find one? Will Philly give me $1000 dollars?

Just because Sony is releasing in more places doesn't mean they will have 100 consoles in each store around the world. Sony themselves have said they are pressing hard to meet the million pre orders already. You think they are going to much left over?
It amazes me how people think releasing in more areas equals having more consoles produced.
It is only spin if they are lying. Can your prove they are lying?
Don't bother because your only response will be your opinion.

I don't think you understand what spin is...
Spin is the presenting information in the most positive way possible. Saying the reason is that they are only launching in a handfull of countries is so that they can have stock in stores for casual consumers who aren't willing to preorder. Is a very bad way to spin the fact that they are launching in fewer countries, rumours say that they are having yeild problems, and that PS4 pre-orders are much higher with with more units available for preorder in America while launching in more countries.

This.
Clear and straightforward.
You can't explain it any better.
If you don't understand this, you are just refusing to understand.
