Forums - General - Samsung shows off massive 98-inch Ultra HD TV

I think this TV is...

too small 45 32.37%

just right 52 37.41%

too big 40 28.78%

Total:137

I have enough trouble moving my 42 inch TV around.

Can't even imagine anything that size.

Also price, we're looking at +$20,000 dollars again aren't we?

It's worthless, without hdmi 2.0 and other stuff, in few months it'll be a garbage.

And, if you can spend around 38k$(price in my hometown store) on a tv, you probably can make better home theater with at least 150 inch 16x9 screen(4k or even 8k projector).

Nice...but its going to cost too much.

A TV like this is really meant for dedicated home theater rooms, and a 4000 dollar 4K projector should give a comparable picture quality in that kind of a setting. Just sayin...

But to get the same visual quality you also need a high quality screen, not just a blank white wall. So $4000 isn't the total cost for getting the same quality picture from a projector. How much is a cinema quality 98" screen?

You're right. So add another 1000 bucks for nice 106 inch Draper cinema screen and projector mount.

You could probably get away with a $600 screen for 95% of the quality but to compete with the Samsung we want the best...

There was a big store near my place that had a 101" plamsa screen for a few months. It was a monster.

Those kind of TV are only showcases, just to show what they can do and little else. I doubt there will be any stock of it in any store in the world (well, maybe except in Dubay).

You could use a lading. Still it's so expensive that I would be surprised if you could put that TV on your home and feel safe with it xD

cons
ugly design,
can't be used as handheld
expensive

pros
impressive size(owning a powerplant for energy supplie could be useful)
lifetime 100% anti theft device(you need to tear down walls and a huge track to carry this tv)

The TV itself can fit through a door seeing as its actually smaller than that person standing next to it.  However the stand will likely need to be assembled in your house, which is also one of the ugliest stands i've ever seen.  Reminds me of a swing set.

now imagine watching porn on that!
