I'm hoping that it's just the MP that is pretty terrible. From what I could tell, general reception of the single player is pretty good. I still have hope that it will be a good game.

wait, people are defending this? like, real people with thoughts and the ability to think for themselves are honestly saying "oh, this is just an early build, it'll be fixed by launch" not realizing how much time it takes to fix things like "Terrible, unresponsive controls" and "a dearth of variety in the kill animations."
I get it, you want to like it and it does in fact look good, but it sounds like the gameplay is just terrible.
What was that dragon game for the PS3's launch that had all the flying and shit? Yeah, this is looking to be something like that. I knew from the very first reveal that this game was going to suck. well, kinda. I felt it was almost certainly going to suck, but I had some hope for it. My hope is nearly all drained; gone.
And based off Capcom's history with Dead Rising, I have a hard time believing that Dead rising 3 will be anything less than a glitchy mess. the first two had great IDEAS, but poor execution and I don't know why so many people are conveniently forgetting how glitchy the first one was and how disappointing the second one was even knowing how glitchy the first one was. I admit, it LOOKS cool, but learn to see patterns, people. a company's previous efforts and outputs are a good indicator as to what can be expected of them. yeah, every now and then you get a resident evil 4 in the mix, but that's not the kind of turnaround you should be bankingon.
That leaves the Xbox One with forza 5. Which will almost certainly be outstanding. all the Forza games have been well loved.

Runa... the dragon game? Lair, and i had fun with it. I thought of bringing it up too. Along with haze. I beought up fuse in the other thread
seams like a typical crytek game. great premise, great idea's, great graphics. shitty gameplay and shitty execution. this does sadden me as i do want more gladiator/spartan/roman era games. and if this was a success it could inspire some more devs to do so

So you have detailed info on how old this build is? Please share. |
Regardless of how old the build is, there is no excuse for animations this horrid i've honestly seen better looking animations on PS2 (Shadow of Rome) and the boring stiff combat isnt something that can be repaired

The writing is on the wall, if you want to stay in denail doesn't effect me either way.
So name one game that had core issues like Ryse that nwas drastically diff 2-3 months before launch? Maybe look in the mirror before talk about someone talking out of their anus.

I played the BF3 beta. It was super glitchy. People droppping through floors, menu screens staying stuck open while you're trying to shoot someone, etc.

As if only perfect games would be fun to play or worth to play. I had the wohle last genaration way more fun with a lot 70% scored games than with boring so called AAA crap like Unchated.
Dead Rising 1 and 2: I had a lot of fun with, Deadly Premonition: 70% on metacritic it is one of the best games I have ever played, Banjo Kazooie nut and bolts: I finised this game 2 times, I invested almost 50 hours what an awesome game, Nier: again 70% on metacritic and it was one of the best RPGs last gen with an awesome Story, Kameo: Awesome Game.
And than the other side Uncharted 2: 96% metascore and what a bunch of bullshit and lame this game is, it is a games almost on rails with casual gameplay and just a boring 08/15 Indiana Jones copie shit. Call of Duty: all around 90% on metacritic and what a bunch of lame repetitive shit this games are. God of War, Killzone: the crapiest IPs ever made. And you could go on and on and on, almsot all so called AAA games are lame overrated boring shit.
Many not so perfect games are way more interesting and are way more fun to play than this AAA shit games.
I guess I can expect Crytek to ruin Homefront for me as well. Crytek needs to just stop making games period.

Oh don't you dare try to lecture ME on the value of 'less than perfect games'. I do game review over on gamrReview, and a lot of what I review is cute little indie games that can't possibly match the production values of stuff like Ryse, yet I've had more fun with guacamelee than I have with Bioshock Infinite (not to say Bioshock was in any way poor).
Point is, there's a difference between 'flawed' and 'broken.' Ryse apparently is basically broken, and with a budget like that, there's absolutely NO REASON THIS SIDE OF JAPAN that such rudimentary issues like 'sluggish, unresponsive controls' is allowed to be an issue.
Putting it in perspective, having poor controls in an action game is like having the best movie ever made but hiring someone with parkinsons to do the cinematography (camera work). It doesn't matter how good your ideas are, if you fail so monumentally at the very basics, then your work is practically invalid.
