GoW combat is quite deep.

They said its mostly button mashing combos made up of a light weapon/heavy weapon/light shield/heavy shield attack until there is a kill qte. That sounds like the formula for any GOW style game.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

The game does look beautful, the light, the shadows, the animation (when not gliching), they are all nextgen-like.

It just piss me off how gamers are prejudiced with games and developers, for better or worst. People assumed tLoU would be a GOTY the first time the game was anounced, and for months when ND never showed any real game play. Hell, the not-so-special MP was shown weeks before the release.

Ryse could be a disaster, but why so much neat-peaking for any aspect of the game?

It's sad the no win situation for Cryteck. If they not show the game people will assume the game is bad and broken. If they show a alfa-beta gameplay people will point out any glitch and performance issue.

It's sad.


Crytek are the masters of making games with great graphics. Gameplay? They are ok. They have an awesome engine, but Epic has always been the better PC dev turned console dev because of MS.

I am not clearly in the wrong here. IGN said elements of the game where atrocious, and that it looked nothing like the prerelease footage. That it did'nt look next gen at all. This made me add my own toughts on the matter, as I remember something similar happened with ZombieU and Aliens:CM. If IGN had not said that, a similar thread on NeoGaf wouldn't have caused a meltdown, and there wouldn't be a reason to make one here, either. 

But it is what it is and drama exhumed. Like it should.

You are clearly in the wrong. IGN said that the camera was atrocious and that elements of the MP was pretty bad. IT DID NOT DESCRIBE THE GAME AS ATROCIOUS. Which is what your intial thread title and OP implied. I also do not see how you come to the conclusion that the game is a 3/10 just because other hyped games turned out badly. Everything about this thread is either inaccurate or flamebait. I mean atleast admit to it...?

And not everybody thinks a thread where multiple people get banned and almost every post is either pointless and baseless bashing or a equally pointless defensive posts, is entertaining, interesting or the way threads should go.

Everything about the ign article suggested that this game needs alot of work. If the camera in a game is atrocious and the combat is "push A" everything, then it is atrocious. If anything, the ign aricle in itself could be considered flaimbait. Thus all the funny GIF's appeared pointing out that this could end up a disaster. And there is reason for concern, considering this game goes gold sometime in october, most likely. If the mods deem this thread unworthy, they could just lock it.

Wow you seriously not getting it?

The video IGN posted is fine. That was their preview of the MP component of the game. And no...if the camera is atrocious then the camera is atrocious, that does not mean the game itself as a whole including the SP is atrocious. Have you ever stopped to think what if the camera is dealt with differently in the SP compared to the MP? Or if the MP is just in a more unpolished state?

And again you saying things IGN DID NOT SAY IN THE VIDEO. They did not say everything is push A. They said that the kill QTE's were all the exact same afer a while, and that the combat wasnt as good. Again this is only applicable to the MP.

They were actually quite positve and hopeful about SP. I havent even read the GAF thread about all this, its funny that you said i should go to GAF when clearly you are more of a GAF guy than me...

And I did not say the MODS should lock the thread where did you get that from? I said your thread title/OP is inaccurate and flamebait. The actual video to be discussed is fine. It's just unfortunate that a lot of posters fell for the bait...and now you have a thread with a lot of pointless posts. Just because this is a shitty thread does not mean it should be locked. Just do better next time. Im out.

PS: And change the title to something accurate, the thread has been up for how many hours now and you still cant manage to get the title right. Heres a hint -> IGN: Ryse Multiplayer Impressions. Done.

Animations are something I haven't seen anyone complain about, and not everyone believes the gameplay needs repairing. When I play Conan or God of War or Darksiders, the repetitive nature of the combat doesn't bother me. It won't here either. I love the brutality of it.

And this is just the co-op horde mode. I have read nothing but praise about the SP.


Uh what? You have seen the gifs people posted right? This is some PS2 level shit right there.

And GOW's combat is fast, fluid and satisfying. Every strike feels real. Not some stiff, stick vaveing, damage sponge, press A to awesome sorry excuse of a combat.

I believe it is "press X to awesome" according to this video. And I don't find any difference in this type of combat and the combat in any of those other franchises I listed and played and loved.

the glitches in this game are terrible, combine that with a dodgy camera and you have one hell of a mess!!!

lets see what the final product is before we pass judgement
