So this basically Megaman.. minus Megaman. They should have called it Megaguy and called it a day.

Also, 402k now! :o

Make it "GUY THAT IS MEGA" to make more unrelatable!

lol. I'm sure Capcom will not be pleased, either way.

What's up with Inafune? His pirate game disappeared. Soul Sacrifice should have been a success, would asking Sony to fund this game be too much? Or was Soul Sacrifice a flop?

i don't think that sony (or nintendo/microsoft) would fund a game which is like mega man just with another name. capcom would be maybe not so amused about that. that's at least my theory why this would never happen.

btw it's a worldwide trend on twitter right now

'Splosion Man got funded just fine.

and which publisher or person should be angry because of splosion man? david perry?

i think there is a little difference between splosion man from a random developer or mighty no. 9, a game from a former very important capcom employee working on a game called mighty no. 9 which main character looks almost like the main character of a game series from capcom.

or do you mean the capcom mobile game capcom ripped-off from twisted pixel? because that was not nice and twisted pixel wasn't really happy about that^^

It took only half a day to get close to 50%, currently it's trending toward 6.9 mio: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9/

This trend will slow down a bit when the initial goal is met as usual with crowdfunding projects, but it's already pretty clear by now that this will become one of the most funded KS game projects (top 3 currently: inXile's Torment: 4.18 mio, Obsidian's Project Eternity: 3.99 mio, Double Fine's Broken Age: 3.36).

It was very clever to make the console versions the final stretch goal.

I hope they got 2,5 m too be on console.

2.5 mill is a lot for a indie sidescroller.

Indy just refers to the method of publishing, not the scope of the game.

I know, but its still a sidescroller

Can someone explain to me plz:

Kickstarter is a company?
Through donation ppl can get money to create a project?
Donators get smthn in return if the project gets the sum it needs?

Essentially yeah.

People post projects on kickstarter, and then other people can donate money to the project.  When people donate money, they will get something in return, such as a T-Shirt, that is provided by the person who started the project.  Kickstarter makes money by taking a percentage of all of the donated money.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

It's 900k. 2.5m to be able to do 4 versions

Thats still a big jump in money just to make a port to consoles.

Kickstarter is a company yes.  If you have an idea for a project, and don't have the money to make it, you ask the internet for their money.  In general, you offer rewards for people who donate.  For example, if you donate 20 dollars to mighty no.9 you'll get the game when it comes out.  If you pay $50 you'll get the game with a soundtrack and other goodies.

And what if the sum fails to be accumulated? is it returned to the funders?
