Just reached the initial goal. 900k in 2 days, the 2.50mil shouldn't be a problem.

I am the only one whose principles not allow to kickstart anything? First make the fucking product and then if I like it, take my money.

Kickstarting is just wrong...

Nothing wrong with having those principals, but I see Kickstarter (or crowdfunding in general) as an alternate way of funding that allows for products that would otherwise not see the light of day by the larger publishers.  You hear people, especially gamers, complain about the lack of innovation.  But when we get innovation, a lot of those games don't do numbers that CoD or WoW (not starting a CoD/WoW hate thread) have, because a lot of products that are considered innovative are also niche.

So if people/companies who don't have access to funds that the bigger publishers do can go into making projects without risking their livelihoods (a lot of smaller studios will go bankrupt after one or two failed projects), I don't mind backing that up.  And even though a lot of these projects on Kickstarter aren't that niche, they still are not seen as commercially profitable by the bigger companies.  Just look at Megaman.  An icon in gaming has had 2 or 3 games cancelled in the last few years, because he hasn't sold  big in a while.  For those fans who want to scratch that Megaman itch, albeit with a counterfit megaman, they have kickstarter to go to and fund.

The crowdfunding tradeoff is that instead of the developer risking hundreds of thousands of dolllars (in this case, more/less in others), the consumer risks anywhere from $1 to a few thousand dollars (depending on the donation tier) to seed a project they believe in.  No one is forced to donate, but the risk is much smaller for these devs if several thousand people take it for them at smaller increments than one or two investors generating all of the funds, themselves.

Kickstarter is basically the same thing as a company selling stock to shareholders.  People take part of the risk and if successful get dividends based on that success.  Except we're getting paid in Mega Man knock off instead of money, which is ok by me.

It is over 900000... founded.

New goals now.

WOW how strong is the Megaman fanbase? Close to 1 million already.
