The only thing I would redesign is the name, I mean there are like more than 70 million of PSPs outhere and Sony release the succesor of the PSP with a name like "Vita" ? wth ?! very very bad move Sony in advertising terms, look what Nintendo did with the Wii U, the Wii sold like 100 million units so far and with the succesor what name they put ? "Wii U", wasn't a no brainer for Nintendo they are aiming to duplicate what Wii sold, same goes for DS, 3DS and now 2DS, see the pattern ?, look what Sony did to PS brand, PS, PS2, PS3 and PS4. this not only applys to videogames it also applys everywhere, Iphone 4, Iphone 5, Galaxy S, Galaxy SII , Galaxy SIII and now 4.

So why in hell Sony put the name Vita ? I think that was just plain stupid by Sony, i don't think even games can help that much to the vita, and yes I agree they messed up too with the memory cards, those are so damn expensive. A lot of people thing the game handheld market is destined to be erased but they so freaking wrong, been playing some android games and this games are just mediocre in comparison to a 3ds or a vita(ugh) game. Sony just messed up again just like the PSP go, seriously how the hell you releases a PSP umd less, smaller screen and more expensive ? wth?, so there you have it.

Sony is failing with the vita not because of the android cellphone market is failing because a lot of mistakes by Sony has been made. seriously when I read the name vita food comes to my mind.

Honestly I think an all digital Vita could work, I know the PSP Go failed but PS Plus is around now and digital in general is bigger than it was a few years ago.

Nah, it doesn't need a redesign, it is by far the best handheld ever from the hardware point of view. Forget about the SD cards, forget about triggers - these things, though nice, will never happen. Internal memory would be ok and probably will be introduced at some point, but really isn't necessary and especially just 2 GB - that would be a complete waste. You really don't seem to know the first thing about the problems that Vita faces. If anything, Sony should release a Vita Lite that would be cheaper and could compete with the 2DS. Then they could target the regular Vita at the core audience and try to sell the cheap one to kids with all the newly announced games for kids. Though to tell the truth, I think that the 2DS and Pokemon X/Y will make it impossible for Sony to win kids.

Still, the thing Vita really needs is more AAA games, a few from Sony's main studios, but mainly from 3rd parties. GTA, TES, Witcher, Mass Effect, next AC and CoD, ect. would finally sell the console. Going more casual and targeting the kids seems impossible now, but they can always try.

Not exactly PSP  2 but hell that would be much better than Vita, Sony stablish the name with the original, when they released the PSP their weren't many games outthere and still the PSP manage to sell alot of systems, is just simple logic look at the Iphone's name that thing is almost the same as the last iteration but still manage to sell millions and millions of units, why you may ask ? well pretty simple is because of the name. look what samsung did after searching and searching names they finally nailed it with the name Galaxy, Sony is doing the same with the xperia brand, Sony just begun on the gaming portable system with PSP is still on diapers in comparison with Nintendo's Game Boy, Nintendo create Game boy, game boy color, game boy advance and other stuffs. So why Sony gamble like this with the succesor of the PSP name brand ? why throw the garbage the brand PSP (Playstation Portable) ?, the Vita is and outstanding piece of technology just look what Killzone looks like(HOLY DAMN!!), but Sony messed up big time  advertising this product, Sony needs urgent a big campaign to promote the Vita and stablish now the vita name if not this handheld will be the last gaming handheld for Sony :/ 

I thougth psp had a good amount of game in the begining i think   in the middle psp start to lack games,if they called vita psp2 i thing vita people will think vita dosn't have many games just because is the succesor of the psp,if you are in the place of sony witch name you would give to vita.

I don't think killzone would be much more bigger if it had a better advertising people would still buy call of instead  of killzone.

you obviously don't own a vita.
the only thing i'd change is the radius of the analog sticks.1 milimeter more radius in every direction would make controle easier and more accurate(especially for shooters)
and a bigger screen-but for a bigger screen you don't need a redesign.The frame of the vita is wasting a lot of space.You can install a 1/3 inch bigger screen on the current vita without changing shape or design.


removing the back back touchpad is the most stupid thing i've read in the past weeks.Most people does not know that it even exists and it does not bother you in any way and it is really fun when playing little deviants and useful with escape plan .The only problem is (just like kinect) that the only company that can use its real potential in a good and balanced way is nintendo.Why removing this and make it incompatibel with several games??


a combination of a huge smartphone (a slider ) would be the only redesign.

i'm pretty sure ps vita and wii u would have sold 50% more units being called psp2 and wii2,

but i'm not sure wether this could be called a success or not

People really want a slimmer ps vita ? Seriousely guys ? A handheld need to be somewhat chubby in order to be comfortable to play. It's like saying you want a slimmer Dual shock... That make little to no sens.

I wouldn't care for a hardware revision unless it was like the 2DS and much cheaper.

What I would love though is a cradle like the 3DS second analogue one. Vita doesn't need a third thumb stick, but having L2, L3, R2, R3 as buttons would be nice. It could even be mechanical and just work off the rear touch.
