well, i think every nintendo console was financially more successful as every sony console so i think this could be a hard effort to take nintendo out of the console race with only one gen 
they could throw a bomb at nintendo's HQ because business wise, nintendo profits a lot even at it's lowest.
nintendo didn't go down with the gc don't expect them now

I would rather send a terminator to prevent Sega to make Shenmue 2. Sega would still manufacture console.

Neither of them see Nintendo as a competitor...and so far for Wii U rightly so.
I'd prefer if Nintendo left the console business and simply made games though. I enjoy them and it is rather disappointing to have to buy another console just for the few titles I do enjoy. .
