Nope. All it "Foreshadows", is exactly what was implied: that it is common knowledge that "3D" is not good for little kids to be exposed to for too long, and it's also common knowledge that the DS design is too fragile for little kids to be trusted not to break. This desing takes care of both problems. The sheer amount of people ignoring who Reggie clearly said this was aimed at, "the 6 and under demographic", and thinking that Nintendo somehow expects adults to buy in on this.....................*facepalm*

I'm not referring to the hypotetical sales aspect of it. Any person with decent amount of taste considers that something is wrong with that thing. It may be cheaper to produce, but I'm expecting small atempts at decency and style.

I think the OP says they are desperate aka need a call for help. But they are leagues ahead. Why would they be desperate? Just giving gamers what they want. No 3DS, cheaper price. Why not? Oh, and we love tablet like devices that play nintendo games.

Agreed! I am not sure about long term. Depends on what critics say, but the curiosity factor alone will get many to purchase this this year alone. I hope it is really great, and it has good legs over time as well.



2ds could help with sales oooorrrrrr maybe dominate!

its optional, not they think 3D wasnt a good idea, it should give X1 a hint on Kinect less SKU! This is a smart move, cheap price ($129.99). Nintendo going to blow the F*** up come Oct 12

Never said it wasnt smart, but just strange, the 3d was THE feature for the 3ds, its what they were pushing(intially) now the handheld is getting some footing and they release a SKU without the feature that was supposed to sell the system in the first place? Naw, not buying it, at the very least they are thinking maybe the 3d isnt as hot as we thought it would be. Its gonna be interesting, they still have DS and now 3 different 3ds skus.


with 3 different sku, and the 2DS being completely different and much cheaper, 3DS starting oct 12 will sell so much its going to blow up the charts

completly different how? its the samn damn thing minus the 3d. i wouldnt consider the newer wii with no online completly different and thats just a big a change if not bigger.

can you not read? did i say anything about it not being a hit. Im just saying its not much different than the actual 3ds, it just lost a function, im talking from a hardware stand point. Didnt speak on sales, dont really care TBH

ill play devil's advocate and side with Ninpie...a little. Its not the skus that bother me, i already have my 3ds so i could care less, its the SPEED at which Ninty are making them that is raising my eyebrows. 3 different skus in less than 3 years. Has that ever happened before? I doubt it. and they get cheaper each time. so its like $250-130? in less than 3 years. Either Ninty isnt making the money they want off of the 3ds, its not selling as much as they want, or they are greedy. WOuldnt call it a cry for help though. ANd i wouldnt say it wont sell, thats not the point.
