If they want more money, they should prepare themselves to get a better job. Is minimum wage for a reason. They dont deserve a penny more thanthey get

Not all fast food workers are in high school.  MOST fast food workers are NOT in high school.  Minimum wage is where people try to raise families, because they have no other choice.  And you know what happens? THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIZES THEM.  YOU pay for their food, their housing, through TAXES!  WE ALL pay for McDonald's CEO's to rake in the cash off their minumum wage workers because they don't have to give them decent wages.

Even if they were high school students, your argument still fails miserably.  Just 2 or 3 decades ago students would work through summer to pay for college.  That isn't even remotely possible any more.  Entry level jobs used to pay enough for a person to live without government assistance, even right out of high school.  People still went to school!

And even those who do go to college and get an education get this: No guarantee of a decent job, and lots of debt.

People who want full time work settle for multiple part-time jobs and those who want part time jobs get left out because they lack experience.

This economy is seriously f'd up, at it's core.  And I certainly blame the conservatives and their inconcievably ridiculous "trickle-down" BS.  Everything keeps trickling UP.  Can't you see that?

I was working, for a couple dollars over minimum, with a guy who was making yet a couple dollars over me.  But even then he lamented how the job paid less than a job he was able to get right out of high school, decades ago.

Wake up!  This country is heading downhill fast!  College is more and more out of reach, families can't survive without help from the government!  We're in bad shape and pompous, out-of-touch, ill-informed attitudes like yours are only going to keep driving us into oblivion.

Look at the statistics.  My common sense tells me that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, and the facts back that up.  The wealth in this country keeps shifting to an upper class that is getting smaller and wealthier every day.  The middle class is getting left behind, the poor are left for dead, and the rich keep fighting anything that might make life more bearable for those just trying to raise a family and make a living.

Sure, you should come down to mexico, and see what a really bad pay is. Works that pay minimum wage dont requiere much. If you want to have agreat job, prepare yourself. I have been studying really hard all my life, even went to the US to get a better education. 

People in the US have it easy, thats why they go lazy and believe they will making a living flipping burguers. Wheni was in 12th grade in the US a teacher ask how many of us planned to go to college. A class of 30+ students, only 3 raised our hands. If your are that lazy to not even try and succed, you dontdeserve a lot. College aint out of reach, and you still have a lot of advantages (loans, scolarships...) if you dont make good use of it, it aint nobodys problem but yours.

I'll agree that Mexico has it much worse.  That's why I want the US to DO something to keep us from ending up the same way!  I would have no problem going back to college, and I likely will, but I have it easy.  I'm in a good position. I'm not arguing for myself, I'm arguing for those who just don't have the same opportunities I do.

Well you dont have to worry about that, the US is not gonna fall as much as Mexico is. And ypu can talk about anyone you want, I also speaking sbout them cause i know how it is. If you want it, you can accomplished it. Ive seen it. Even if you are not in the best position,you canstill make it out. My dad did it, in a way worse situation, in a far far worse country, so I know it is possibly people in th Us with low resources can succed. They just need motivation, that something a lot of people,not only in the US lack. People are becoming lazier expecting more benefits. Thats just impossibiru

People in the U.S. are not lazy. American workers are more productive than ever, and only the rich get compensated for that increase. The average worker, who is contributing more to the economy, has not seen their wage increase, inflation adjusted, for a very long time, while the top 20% is raking it in more than ever.  And that isn't fair.

Sure, keep beliving that if you want. I had the opportunity to live 6 years in the US. And i know what im talking about. But to each its own buddy. If people wanna have a great job with a good income, dont aim for minimum wage jobs. Those are not intended to make a living off. 

And yet they are the most abundant job in the country!  There are more minimum wage jobs than there are high school students!  There are NOT as many good-paying jobs in this country as there are people trying to make a living and raise a family!

Also: keep believing what, exactly?  Those are cold, hard facts I was referring to, not some intangible belief.

I don't care that things could be worse, I want things to be BETTER!  Is that so wrong?  No, it's not.  Things CAN be better, things have been better before, so why shouldn't I want things to get better here?  Just because other places have it worse?  Heck no, I'm not going to say "oh well, we're not the worst place in the world, so we shouldn't try to improve."
