I always hear about this guy being an icon to the industry, but honestly don't know about his work aside from Fable.

He is an icon in a way from what he did in the past, two games I enjoyed that he did were Populous and Powermonger, he has imo talked a great deal of late but not really delivered, Godus just might be a return to form?

Populous is an award-winning computer game designed by Peter Molyneux for Bullfrog in 1989, and is regarded by many as the first PC god game.

He invented the god game genre in the 80s with Populous (which became a commercial success) and in the 90s his own company Bullfrog Productions created 3 brilliant games: Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet (some would also put Theme Park to that list, but I think that one is overrrated). Quite a few people shed some manly tears of joy when the timeless Bullfrog classics Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper were finally re-released on gog last year. Magic Carpet (a very unique game imo) is not as famous as those two, but an excellent game as well. Molyneux sold Bullfrog to EA in 1995.

Kinda surprised he didn't quote 5 of his own games.

that was the biggest surprise

and the fascination for half life 2.I never understood why his game is so special. It is not as stupid as 99% of all shooters, but nothing special, and the character was uninteressting.Maybe you have to play the first part and own a pc to really like this game

Okay, I'm going to put aside the sarcastic comment I had planned (It involved Fable: The Journey) simply because he mentioned Ico. Anyone who names Ico as one of their favorite games gets a measure of respect from me. I'll stay my blade this time, Peter.

Interestingly enough, one of the writers for the Half-life series was influenced by Ico.

Well, just keep in mind that he's Peter Molyneux. When he talks, he's probably lying. About liking Ico in this case.

Now, fire away.

My list of top 5 games would probably - at this point - include at least one of Peter Molyneux's games.

I wouldn't pick any of these 5, though. Especially not Ico.

(Although possibly WoW, depending on the mood you caught me in).

Still, wasn't really expecting this from him.

I'll hunt you down, Kresnik.  I'll hunt you down and make fun of that hole in your chest where you heart is supposed to be.

So he made better games before he played his top 5 favorite games. Interesting.

I use to have a heart.  I think it stopped beating somewhere along the line I wasted hours swinging at shadows that I couldn't hit in Ico because there was no depth perception.   It would've been okay if there was some nice music playing in the background so at least I was getting some enjoyment out of it, but no.

The final boss was enjoyable.  Take this small victory, because it's the best you'll get from me.

Nice list.

peter i believe had so many ideas for fable but ultimately was held back by the hardware available.

i still think hes a good developer. Fable 3 could have been great. Instead it felt rushed. Shame really it had so much potential.
