They don't need to show gameplay very soon, it's probably going to be released mid to late 2014. Plenty of time to show stuff. |
Then they teased it too early, or should ease off on the teasing until then.

Movies have a higher status and respect than games, generally speaking.
So it's not strange if some game devs rather would have wanted to become film directors. Judging from this article and how they're marketed 1886 so far, they seem to be people who admire the movie industry.
The article speaks of these guys wanting to emulate film effects in their game, and even generalizing it to the whole generation, claiming that in next gen the big thing will be Hollywood effects instead of just increasing polygons and image quality. And the guy explains how impressed he was by Uncharted 2's cinematic experience and how he wanted to mimic it.

Again, how does that mean that would rather be in the movie industry then games? It was a weak attempt to undercut wthis game or sony. Just because they are trying to take some aspects of film doesn't mean they are any less developers. Really makes no sense.
Uncharted 2's success speaks for itself.....................

Well, I made that asumption, I agree. If someone speaks so passionately about movie effects and about the most successful cinematic game in history (Uncharted 2) I dared to assume that he probably admires Hollywood movie making and at least a part of him wants/wanted to be a film director.
It's not wildly uncommon to dream about becoming a film director. I've had several friends during the years who expressed wishes of becoming film directors.
Now you assumed stuff too. You assume I'm attacking not only this game, its developers but even Sony with my post. So don't criticize me for asumptions.

Trying to pretend you know what these people feel, aspire to be? lol, more likely they are just trying to add some aspects of film into the game to improve it.
i really believe that i will like this game if i can play it like gears of war in co-op and some pics absolutely look like that. the co-op for gears was a huge thing and it could be the same with this game.
btw interesting that developers often try to let games look as if you would see them through a camera lens and not as if you would see it just in front of you.
Well i seriously hope they don't make an uncharted clone/wannabe.
Taking some of the better aspects from Uncharted will be fine, like story telling, and amazing cinematic set pieces...
But other than that, I'm looking for new, fresh gaming experiences! Especially from a new IP and on new hardware.
