Forums - Nintendo - Does the new Nintendo 2DS interest you at all?

I actually really like the design, i think it looks pretty slick.
Probably wont be getting one myself but my fiance is very interested. She has wanted a 3DS for a while, and animal crossing has increased that interest but she isnt fussed about the 3D feature.
Its perfect for those kind of people who are on the fence about the console.

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

Me? No, but many people actually going to buy one, not bad money move from nintendo.

Nintendo 2018

English is not my native language.

I have a 3DS, but if I didn't, I wouldn't care about it. But if 10 year old me saw that!? I'd get two. It looks cool to me.

this model of the 2DS no. if they can make one with the XL size screens im in. the size dosent matter as it never leaves my house so it would be similar to the GamePad

Clearly some "hardcore gamers" think the world revolves around them.

i'm going to get my sister to buy it for me when she goes to america. It is so cheap and i am curious how it feels on the hand. Like many people have said - it is not aimed for forum dwellers

I really thought it was a joke at first. But some families might want it as it's cheaper, and little kids aren't supposed to use the 3D.  But so many people whined about the 3D, now they don't have to have it, even as an option.

But non fold able? All of my what?!?  Kids love to open the thing!  It's like a laptop - they are taking away the funs man.

(oh, but a Power Adaptor is included, That changes everything.)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I dont think its aimed at us. That is a kids toy. Its aimed at very very young gamers. I would say 4-5 to 6-8 years old.

I personally find it an abomination. Also good luck Nintendo, marketing the 2DS name with the DS and 3DS. Thats not gonna be confusing for parent at all...

Fugly.

uncomfortable to hold. Just look at it!

A step backwards. We aare already getting a system with minimum functions?

What is good about it?

Curiosity factor , tablet shape for the tablet crazies out there and the price.

With the amount of time and money Nintendo put into this they could have been using it on bettering the Wii u, instead of having some intern suggest a 50 dollar price cut later this year.

it is a no for me.  Poll coming when i get off work.

So negative.  No, it's not aimed at you, but to those it is aimed towards, it's an entry to a console that was started with the original DS.  For those who were still unwilling to invest and needed that extra incentive to water their conpulsive palates, this is that extra inch.

For instance, I've recently lost my launch day 3ds and am really considering buying one.  Pokemon X and Y will be here soon and I can't be left behind my friends who are very competetive when it comes to battling.  I could either get a 3DS XL, or I can just get a 2DS minus the 3D effect.  Really a coin toss right now.  But I know if the game were out tomorrow and considering that I have to buy a console and one of the games, I would prefer to  pay a little less for the entry.

Will this be any good for Nintendo profit, I can only guess, but I can see a market for it.

Between the 2 nephews, they have 4 (possibly more) broken DS's, all of them due to the hinges. They also broke mine.
This is actually an ugly, rugged and cheap revision that's good for them. Though, they've mostly moved onto PC games.
