I'll stick to the XL. Not my thing but I can understand why some people would like it.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

No, that would not be better.

While technically the "top screen" is a touch screen, it has a plastic protector over it. In order to make the whole thing a touch screen, that plastic would have to be removed. And then you would have fingers and stylus running all over the upper part of the screen, which is the part you watch most of the game on. It's pretty obnoxious on mobile devices and it would be no less obnoxious on handhelds.

You guys are missing the biggest flaw with this idea. More pixels = more calculations. If the 2DS menu and apps were full screen, it would mean slightly less powwaaarz left for games. This model would need a ram upgrade which would ruin the $130 price point.

I know you are joking, but the 2DS "screens" is actually just 1 screen separated by the case.

I dig the lack of 3D because I've never been into that shit. But the design is not for me. I prefer the clamshell approach.

Then again, this isn't designed for us, it's aimed mostly at kids.

I'm not joking and I don't understand why you think reminding me of that fact invalidates my conclusion...

I misread your post, so don't pay attention.

I know you are still joking though.

While it may be one single screen, it doesn't all have to be touch enabled. The top portion can simply have the electrodes removed.

And if it is all just one screen, that means the bottom portion (bottom screen) is just as wide as the top portion (top screen). That means the 2DS is either rendering an additional, though hidden, 19,200 pixels or that portion of the screen is somehow unrendered/contains no actual pixels/ etc...

would be more costly i thats not what they wanted...sometimes i ask myself do people really understand anything at all especially gaf users ?

No It wouldnt, the 2DS has one screen, its just seperated by plastic

that means if you tear it apart you get one dead screen in the middle right ? that means its less constly.
