Deep Silver just announced that their action-adventure open world,Saints Row IV is now ‘a commercial success’ with  over a million units sold during its launch week.

SRIV PC version first week sales numbers has tripled over last year’s Saints Row: The Third, which was published by THQ.

The publisher says the game is leading charts in all major European countries and it is on top spot in UK, Germany all Formats charts.

“We are incredibly happy of the reception for Saints Row IV as a critical and now a commercial success,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of parent company Koch Media.

The development team at Volition is second-to-none as a driving creative force in the entertainment industry and we are very proud to have them as part of the Deep Silver family.”

Saints Row IV Inauguration Station received over 1.3 million registrations with custom content equaling 806,908 characters pieces.

Great news, even if this is shipped, not sold. Will sell less than the Third, but good numbers anyway.

GTA is going to crush this

Why do you say it´s a flop?  SR4 first week sales are the same as SR3 ( lifetime sales are 2.52 (360) 2.19 (PS3) ). Surely GTA will sell a LOT more, but Saints Row sales are pretty good, specially if  you considerer GTA V is coming soon.

At the very least it sold worse than saint rows 3 in the UK, who knows about other countries

This game is one of the most ridiculous games I've ever played.... But I love it it's so fun and awesome, and I hope it sells well

Good to hear they're happy with the sales, and that it is already making money, but I doubt it will sell as much as The Third with GTA V coming next month.

Still, it will do well in the long term, specially on PC as it will be one of those titles that will always appear on the Steam sales and people will be buying it then.
