Forums - Microsoft - Differences between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of Zoo Tycoon revealed

Gaming Everything

The Xbox 360 version…

- Doesn’t support Kinect

- Has half as many animals as Xbox One version

- Offline singleplayer only; no multiplayer

“[Xbox 360] can’t render this, so we have to decrement a lot of the art. And b) you can’t even store it all. So we can’t have 100 animals [as with Xbox One]. We can have 55 maybe, we’re still working on the exact specifics for that.”

“There’s some other features we had to [cut]. Like Kinect, we couldn’t support. Kinect takes a lot of processing power in Xbox 360, so we can’t have it there. And the same with Xbox LIVE: we’re basically banking on the Xbox One community. And the zoos are twice as big on Xbox One. There’s a lot of [differences], but if you want to play a single-player game and still have a good time, you can play it on 360.”

- Microsoft Studios studio manager Jorg Neumann

Yes... lets tell the world that the 360 version is half the game you are getting.. thats great marketing right there..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

In other words: Buy the x1 version!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

My thoughts on the Xbox360 version:

+No Kinnect_ Good. It's a Tycoon game, the camera would be almost useless to build the zoo.

+No multiplayer_ Good. Does this game need multiplayer?

+Less animals_ Very bad. Is he talking about the number of animals in 1 zoo or available animals in the game? In any case, it's lame.

+Smaller Zoos_ Obvious. Given that it has less animals, why would you want bigger zoos?

I had little hope for this game to be good, but now they have almost vanished.

@NiKKoM: He's actually doing his job, selling the X1 and that version of the game which is what MSoft wants. But, do they really think that there's someone who will buy the X1 to play this game?

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Great news that the 360 hardware isnt holding back the true experience.

Kinect intergration is awesome news. Kinect 2.0 was made for strategy games. Or I guess many will just get usb mouse and keyboard. As Xbox One is said to support those.

What I really want to know is the differences between the 360 and the One versions of Project Spark.

that's why most RTS/Management/building games want kinect integration because the pad doesn't work well or is limited

multiplayer is an essential component of bulding games.... and you go faster with exchange of animals to bread...

but anyway everybody knows any game coming on both XB360/one will be better on one... no surprises here

I doubt Kinnect 2.0 will be good enough to do that. Sure they have improved it, but I think that even a pad would be better to manage the building tools (not the menus) than Kinnect.

But if like selnor said you can use keyboard+mouse, no one can beat that.

That's more a personal opinion, and that's why I said that those were my thoughts.I'm more of a single player guy, so all of this online aspects are useless to me.

Hmm, a game plays/looks better on a system that is supposed to be 10X more powerful. How is that possibly true?
