I think that there are only 2-3 other people who regularly post on this site(besides me and you) that have any interest in the power and capability of the Kinect 2.

It's obvious when the haters start talking that they have not taken the time to even understand or truely use the Kinect 1.  I too am looking forward to the voice capabilities in combination to my home theatre set up.  Being able to play bluray movies through the XBOne is just one less component on my shelf.  THe number of times that I have to look for a remote to do something is incredible.  I just hope that the XBOne delivers like it looks like it can.

Count me in

Veerrry interested - and tbh the best local multiplayer moment were playing kinect 1.0 with my friends

Yes, maybe the group thing isn't something that you will do as often as picking up the controller, but when you do do it it is a blast.  Like many have said, Kinect 1 had its limitations, but Kinect 2 should overcome most of them.

endimion is right: Kinect already has a "Killer App", and the Killer App of that piece of hardware with it's super-expensive depth-sensing technology is voice recognition, which would in fact only require a 1$ microphone.

It's been the killer app with Kinect 1.0 already, and it's going to be the killer app with Kinect 2.0, because Kinect 2.0 is in fact just a minor improvement over Kinect 1.0, and thus will not allow for revolutionary new ideas/concepts that just weren't possible with Kinect 1.0 at all.

im fully convinced that kinect will be almost worthless for motion gaming. but you cant really say Kinect2.0 is a minor improvment. the tech is so much better in kinect 2.0

how so since already this gen it isn't??? just dance, dance central, kinect sport, fruit ninja and a bunch of other are great fun... the fact that some gamers (that call themself hardcore) don't like them doesn't invalidate the quality of those games...

dance game are nothing new and way more hardcore than some of the major IPs today... dance dance revolution is here to prove it

i said almost because it only plays dance games and a mini game collection. give me a game that can be played with kinect that has solid and deep gameplay. skyrim? mass effect? gears? halo? forza? does kinect actaully improve on gameplay? does it?

playing fruit ninja for example has an almost inexisting deepness to it's gameplay - still - you are smilimg throughout the competition with your friends. What othr game does that ? skyrim? mass effect? gears? halo? forza? [god i love those games, don't you ever make me diss them again]

just because these games have more strong aspects to them other than gameplay doesnt mean they have shallow gameplay. actually its fruit ninja that has shallow gameplay, how on earth does this game have deep gameplay is beyond me

inexisting is the key word here

Still fun is the point

Define killer app please.

in mass effect it did somehow... the biggest pb with kinect 1 beside lag was noise cancellation... you change that and i will never use a toggle weapon button ever again or in ME case the action wheel especially for squad mates...

now on the depth of gameplay... i love when """""hardcore""""" gamers throw that word... i'll argue that dance central gameplay or even kinect sport heck lets put gunstringer and kinect adventure in there too is deeper than forza's game play... and i prefer forza by far.... tastes in game genres doesn't diminish the qualities or issues of the other games....

i don't expect to get an """"hardcore""" 100% kinect game any time soon... but i expect kinect to further a little bit the classic game play of those games.... i know we'll probably never see that this gen... but why not one day give out orders like a real team leader with hand gesture in a rainbow six game... or have a steele battalion with the first one massive game pad and the concept ideas of the second one... have a big come back of point and click games like monkey island with a deeper gameplay thank to kinect.... i think some games could take advantage of it in original ways like some games on 3DS with the touch screen from dusk till dawn comes to mind
