i love your threads cause they make no sense. Disney Infinity? really? thats something to be proud of now? OK guess you gotta take your victories where you can. Not like it will boost hardware. Hell I imagine Wii is taking sales away from WIi U

It shows the Wii can dominate if proper games with the right target audience come out for it. JD also dominated among all platforms on WiiU. If Nintendo wouldn't have stopped to support the system, it would probably now be around 120M. And Nintendo would make a lot of money.

I agree with you though, that the Wii might steal sales from WiiU.

So...pretty much dance games and anything tailored to young children and family? Been saying that for a while now

That's what third-parties are making for the audience. At the time Nintendo supported the system it also included Jump&Runs, Arcade Racers, Sport Games and much more. But as I said, Nintendo gave up on the Wii. Probably they weren't interesting in making money.

Lol, it's not like they had anything to worry about in that department. They sold 250m+ Nintendo made consoles this past generation. Think about that for a moment. Now add software sales.

I agree the Wii probably could have last until 2013 with the proper placement of software had Nintendo been careful with what they did with it.

But let's be honest, Nintendo basically abandoned the Wii because this current administration of corporate executives are all about being cheap and would rather drop everything outside of Japan before the new console comes out then spend money on development, localization, promotion and all the other stuff they know cost money.

thats great news for the wiiu...oh wait, wii.... hmmmm ok. good for them.

WEll it seems this is one of the only Nintendo games on the US pre-order chart. So there is not much to pick from.

i wouldnt call that domination, but thats just me

dont think its that simple i believe they just wanted to get in on the newer tech.

Probably they wanted that. But looking at the current sales it seems like a bad decision.

its not like they could have predictied it would have done this badly

D.I. will trounce everyone on Wii U this holiday as Wii U rebounds.

My kids want it a lot as do many others, but this type of game is clearly a birthday/xmas style gift due to its high initial cost.

Most kids have a either a Wii/360/PS3 already ... no need to buy an entirely different and much more expensive system just to play this game.

Skylanders didn't sell all that great on the Wii U.

The Wii was not going to survive for 3 years on its own as is, what Nintendo should have done IMO is released a Wii HD in 2010 or 2011 alongside either DKCR or Zelda: SS and sold it for a budget price of $149.99 with 720p capability for newer games (overclocked CPU/GPU + more RAM) and a better eShop/main interface, ala the DSi > DS upgrade.

Wii should've remained a brand centered around motion gaming/the Wiimote and low cost entry gaming/casual/kid market.

The "Wii U" should've just been rebranded as a more traditional Nintendo console (I like the sound of "New Nintendo Entertainment System") and been more powerful than the PS3/360 by a large margin and competed more for core gamers.

They could've sold both for several more years.

Yeah probably. I'm just being optimistic for Wii U rebounding.
