Forums - Sony - What If Vita's Price Cut Doesn't Help With Sales By Much? Then What? o.O

Vita Will Only look good if it sells around___ price cut week

40k 21 42.86%

35k 2 4.08%

30k 9 18.37%

25k 8 16.33%

20k 2 4.08%

15k 7 14.29%

i know this is a bit negative and ill probably get some stick off people but i think sony should just focus on the PS4 now and forget about the vita. I just cant see it kicking off (ive bought one by the way) the 3ds (i dont own one of these) has much better games and developer interest because of its user base. Theyve got a new console coming out aand a feirce competeor in Microsoft so just focus on getting people to buy that instead.

US only or Europe Only lol

So you're assuming sales will be approximately the same in both regions?  Because they haven't been for a long while now (Europe has been ahead by a fair bit unless USA gets a game that EU doesn't).

And to make it worse, there will be no, I repeat no, blackjack and hookers in the afterlife.

I don't want to live in this world any more.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I don't understand the options in your poll. Vita is selling 30-40k a week at the moment. Why is 15k on there? You're expecting it to lose 15-25k weekly sales after the price cut?

US only or Europe Only lol

That makes sense now, yes I see your point tbone, but Sony is trying to give its all to have a succeful ps4 launch and see if Vita can sell some due to the connectivity. It's one console on board the other hangs on.

I don't see it affecting sales at all, honestly.

Maybe a 20% - 30% bump for the rest of the year before it falls back down again.

isnt both of them selling less than 7k a week? i know US selling less than 17k past two months cuz of NPD. The poll was meant for just one answer, how much for US(i assume Europe would be close in numbers)

they need to focus on it though, nintendo's huge problem was 3DS >>>>>>>>>>>> WiiU with games. Now it seems like PS4 >>>>>>>>>> Vita in games imo. PS4 still got hidden gems not announced! People still cling onto MH4(even though off topic cuz thats Japan) and think Ports are going to help, it wont like how WiiU ports arent good (from third parties i mean!) Vita needs more than to hang on connectivity imo

Well I imagine it will do well, I usually stay away from handhelds but I just bought my Vita. The price-cut was pretty significant, a $100 cut, and I was really looking forward to playing Uncharted Golden Abyss, which I've had for months now thanks to PS+. I got the 3G model with Walking dead for only $199 and even picked up a 16gb memory card. I'm really enjoying The Walking Dead and can't wait for season 2.

I don't expect a big jump, anything more then 20k would be a pleasant surprise. Buy I don't think it matters too much, the vita will be around for a long time and I'm sure it will pass xbox and gamecube sales. Not what sony were aiming for but potentially a profit maker in the end.

In japan its on track to become a modest success at the very least. Soon those japanese titles will pour over to the west and make the Vita an attractive purchase for fans of japanese games.

Playstation 3 streaming will also be pretty huge and I'm sure by the time it comes around we'll be looking at the introduction of a new Vita model+ another price cut.
