hmm what do i think will die first?

ps2, psp, ds, 360, wii, ps3 (assuming what i heard about the ps3 lifespan being a decade is true)

PS2, it's currently on its deathbed. Still has a ways to go though.

Then PSP, especially if Sony announces a PSP2 in the near future. Last to die will be the Wii, anyone that says it will die "first" is a deluded fool. =))))

PS2 probably only will have another year left in it or so.. but its run has been remarkable. Not like the xbox 360, which seems to have pulled out all the stops and is in last place in every country other than the US.

i would say the ps3 just because it has the worst games

I think PS2 cause its the oldest system, then either 360 or psp, 360 has been out the longest of current crop and psp has appalling software sales, then DS or Wii depending on which one Nintendo decides to replace first then finally ps3 cause it will have the longest lifespan

 Why will PS3 have the longest lifespan, you do realize that the market not Sony decides how long a console lives

Out of that list - PS2 - although frequency of titles is a much better measure. If someone releases a single DC game tomorrow, does that mean the DC is not yet dead?

PSP will be the first to die though - releases/volume is already a lot lower. We'll see what happens when Sony releases GT Mobile - it could single handedly revive the (software) on the platform. 

i won't predict software death, as each year the new gh game will be on ps2 as well and there are still some games made for old systems here and there...so i'll just predict when each console/handheld will get its replacement launched (so ps2 is already done)

 psp->360->ps3->wii

i didn't put ds in because a new ds will only come out if/when psp2 launches with a touchscreen and has some differentiators that give it a strategic advantage over the ds...otherwise, no reason for Nintendo to make a successor to the ds anytime soon 

360/ps3 will release consoles before Nintendo because they HAVE to

in the next 5 years, there will be as many 'non-gamers' joining the market as there are currently 'gamers'...they will join because of the wii and the wiimote

sony/ms aren't dumb...they won't want to be unable to compete for HALF of the market...they will release new consoles that will have full motion/ir controls so they can have a shot at getting some users from that half of the market

gamepads are a barrier to entry for the 80% of the population that are non-gamers and wiimote gets around that

imo a gh4 launching this fall will sell better on ps2 than ps3 and potentially even a gh5 in 2009 will as well
