The PS2, software development for it is winding down. The PSP may not be far behind it though, when your hardware sales increase 33% over the prior year but your software sales fall 14% it is not a good sign.

Sony also said that rumble is last gen and that backwards compatibility is one of the core features of the PS3. It doesn't look like you can trust everything what Sony says.

For comparison, Nintendo said that the Gamecube would last eight years and that they would sell 50 million units of it.

Nintendo passed 50 million gamecubes since the Wii is just two gamecubes duct taped together right? so that makes 64million!! woot go Nintendo!!
