The reason they chose Affleck is because both The Town and Argo made a lot of money for Warner Brothers both movies being critical successes didn't hurt either.

He definitely isn't my first choice. But he gets too much flack.

I think the movies going to suck regardless, generally because superman sucked. I'm surprised affleck took this, it could hurt his career after he turned it around.

I'd rather him write/direct this and have zack snyder play batman. :P

I doubt that is the reason. Doesn't matter who the actor for Batman is...a Batman Vs. Superman movie will make a ton of money no matter what. Look at Man of Steel...It got like a 50% rating on Rottentomatoes and still made over $600M.

I'll reserve judgment for now. The actors picked for well known roles are rarely accepted by the public at first, but often turn out brilliantly.
