Forums - Gaming - Thinking Of Swapping My PS4 Pre-Order For An XBox One

Whichever console you choose, you'll be happy with the 3rd party titles. :) Granted the PS4's lifecycle looks anything like the PS3's, it'll be filled with 1st party, new IP's.

Granted the Xbone's is anything like the X360's, it'll satisfy a more mature player. But, we can't predict the future just yet, so either console for now is a safe bet for great gaming.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

If you really like the Microsoft exclusives allot more and do not plan on playing many multiplatform games, then go for it, However, if the type of games you play are mostly multiplatform games then I'd suggest that you reconsider...cause as it currently stands the PS4 has the more capable hardware meaning that multiplatforms games will generally run better on the PS4. Just as multiplatform games generally ran better on the 360 than the PS3....no one ever wants to experience the BS of Skyrim on PS3.

It's worth considering before putting down your hard earned cash . If possible stick with your PS4 cuz it's the least expensive of the two, then enjoy the multiplatform games that come out this holiday season, and just wait till next year to purchase an Xbox One.
Hell if the pre-orders hold true, and the PS4 starts killing the Xboxone in terms of sales, especially in America, then you may see a possible situation were retailers start having specials and cutting the price, which is the perfect time for you to swoop in if your still interested to pick one up with the games you want.

Again it's something you can consider, but at the end of the day you must follow your gaming heart and be happy.

As for me, I've always like the Sony exclusives over anything else, but now I'll also be able to enjoy the definitive version of multiplatform games on console, you could say it's a win-win situation for me.

If you only plan to buy one next-gen console, you might regret it pretty soon when better games start to come for the PS4 over XBox One's so you'll have to wonder which will have better games over time. If you plan to get both of them, then get the one which you consider to have the best games at launch. In my opinion both launch lineups are pretty meh, so I'll wait til' next year to get a PS4, and I don't plan to buy any other home console until next-next-gen.

You should go ahead :)
The Xbox One offering is just incredible.

I REALLY doubt any MS fanboy would turn to PS4 after MS change those bad policies, so, buy whatever you want, who cares?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

If I didn't have a PC, Titanfall would be a big enough reason for me.

Simply put, don't fall victim. to 'Damage control' PR by Microsoft. Make your own choice, but mark my words it will be a foolish one.

1.) Games. I hear this all the time. "Xbox one has killer launch titles!!" We have no idea how the games will turn out, at all. The only thing we can judge by right now is track record. When you look at that track record the fact that with the Xbox 360 Microsoft hasn't released a AAA (90+ rated) exclusive full-fledged title for the Xbox not named Halo, Gears, Forza since 2006. Really take a step back and think about that before you talk about games and Microsoft. Specifically look at how well the console is supported through it's lifetime. Sony always supports their consoles, Microsoft has proven that they will only support their console if it's providing maximum profit to them.

2.) Hardware Longevity. How can't you be slightly concerned with a software company who has consistently had issues creating hardware that's either fundamentally viable or competitive with their peers. Original Xbox was a huge money pit because of their poor design choices. Xbox 360 had massive RROD failures due to their poor design choices. Xbox One, the book is unwritten yet again it appears they basically got less of a system than their competitor. I believe their inexperience in the hardware market is actively visible and has been. This hardware longevity is definitely a concern when the desire is to takeover your living room entirely.

3.) Price.

4.) Popularity. Early indications seem to indicate that the PS4 will have a far greater audience to start initially. Which means most likely a superior online experience.

Lol at some Sony fans. Simply put lol. I really hope you get him to not convert and you're getting paid for it.

Its your money, give it to the company that you think will give you the best bang for your buck. Heck! You can even get a gaming PC and still get most of the games you are after. lol!

PlayStation is about the long-haul, you are not just investing in it for its first few years, but its entire life-cycle which will be filled with impressive games.

plus, we get inFAMOUS which looks like the only true next-gen game i've saw (those particle effects...)

particle effects = next gen?

(facepalm)

He never said particle effects = next gen, he just really like the way it looks in inFamous second son (it is pretty impressive).

OT: You're asking us to validate your decision,  why? It's not like any of us can change your mind, we all have different tastes. If you like Dead Rising then that should be enough to buy an X1 at launch, same goes with Forza.

If particle effects make a game Next-Gen then any game running on the PC with Physx is Next Gen.
