Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One UI screenshots released

It looks efficient but empty

BGs and/or tiles should be customizable

Looks nice and efficient but awfully... bland. Hopefully there is an option to change the background.

Why does the third need to say the game is ready? Multiplayer match I guess?

I would guess that it showing a notification that the game download is complete.

Next gen systems allow you to start playing almost instantly once the download starts. There's no need/reason to wait for the full game to download before you start playing.

I think thats true when you are downloading it from the disc, but if you are downloading it from the server/internet, I think you have to wait.

You'll be able to play before it's done downloading.  I'm not sure what the process is, if they have a minimum percentage for each game, or if you can just play.

They did something similar with TLoU, you only needed it 50% downloaded and then you could play.  I'd expect it to be a lot smaller on PS4 though.  Same with Xbox One.

If its from the disc, you can just play without waiting any second. What I mean by the "disc", is that you bought the physical copy.

If you downloading it from the server, didn't have the physical copy in the console, you have to wait. I don't know for how much, but I think you have to wait until it is 100% downloaded.

its probably for the multiplayer  since one the x1 you can set up a multi match without being in the game so  in the screen the player has set up a match but is waiting for it to start so the player is watching tv the pop up lets him know to the match is ready

I got that, but you won't need to wait until it is 100% downloaded.  That's what I meant by TLoU, you could download it from PSN, and it would only have to be 50% downloaded to play.  I'd be very surprised if they couldn't manage something similar on Xbox One or PS4, when instancy is what they're going for.

Expect PS4 and Xbox One to be able to do so, without downloading even 50%.  The systems are basically made with instancy in mind, rather than just an app, that TLoU used.

I'm sorry, I didn't know that.

I think that will depend on the game and how it created.

I knew they were going to make the interface similar to Windows 8, but this looks IDENTICAL. I have a few devices running windows 8 and yes you can make changes(not much as of now). There is a new version of windows 8 coming in October that gives you a much broader ability to customize the interface. I am sure that it will be on the XBOXOne too.

It looks like Windows 8... I thought Xbox supporters always declared it was bad to recylce an OS, but I guess this is okay.

You thought wrong and if you have nothing to contribute then don't bother posting at all.

No one ever criticized Sony for using the PSP XMB with the PS3? There were never any arguments about Sony was being unnoriginal, and how the interface was bad as a result? Alrighty then.

Want my contribution? Okay. Windows 8 is one of the worst OS's to ever hit PC's. It's ugly, unimaginative, cluttered, and full of bugs. It's just an excuse for Microsoft and their partners to spam users with more ads, as if we didn't get enough of that before. I don't like the OS, and that's my opinion. The fact that Microsoft is using it in the XBone just makes me want it less.

I don't understand why I got banned for 3 days for writing Son¥ and saying that PS Vita Pet is a blockbuster in a sarcastic way. Maybe I offended somebody(a mod?).

But I turn around and come to awesome Nsanity threads to get info about X1 and all I see is trolling, bashing and M$ written and no sign of intervention. Makes me think...
