there's a reason brain dead, liberal themed movies bomb in the box office over and over.

Matt Damon movies alone have been on a bomb streak (many of which have overtly liberal/communists themes).
he hasnt had a successful movie since the bourne ultimatum which was released in like 2007

You're representing with your flag, one of the biggest communist/socialist entities and it seems that you love it.

Well, there's grain of truth in your words :D American patriots, know them very well, practically lika a family to me, are indeed people with contradicting points in their thought patterns sometimes. Free health insurance? You're commie. Free education? You're filthy commie. At the same time the very same person could use Medicaid, Medicare and food stamps, like half of Americans do. Nobody hates social state more than they are.

Truth be said though, social welfare has been overbudgeted in past few decades in many countries outside of the US (or should I say used to...?). It actually in some way answers why the "Elysium" is what it is. Social solidarity is perceived by Hollywood and various other kinds of "intellectual bomonde" only in the form of social welfare programmes aka philanthropy, not a different social structure or social revolution. They think that resources are limitless "and no one will go away unsatisfied", it's only some evil system or machine that is exploiting people and won't let them be happy.

Extremism from both sides is what is refraining this world to have a balanced form of politics that could benefit all actors.

When I think about social welfare I think about: school funds, cheaper healthcare, better prison reintegration to release citizens not animals and help for the needy that is really debilitated. Of course there's no limitless funds and other utopian ideas. However, I would rather see spent 80% of "War budget" to better engineers/scientists/professors and students and give our country a better chance to strive with more qualified professionals. That's the way we prosper, investing in a handful of  mega companies will only make rich richer and the rest you know.

Why so serious?

Scratch 30 years...make it 46 years after this year ends. You must also remember hispanic does not signify a "race" just ethnic background. When i say majority, they will lead the minority birthrate and immigration, meaning the immigrant numbers will increase but hsipanics will obviously lead the way. The caucasian populace outnumbers all ethnic minorities today but because of the rapid increase via immigration and birthrate hispanics will lead the rest of the minorities to be more than the caucasian population. This means that by that time a good chunk of the nation will be bilingual (especially in the south and western portions of the US).

This means the movie is not wrong that in 2154 hispanics will by themselves by the majority in the nation without other minorities.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/13/us/us-will-have-no-ethnic-majority-census-finds.html?_r=0

The Hispanic population is expected to more than double during that time, to 128.8 million in 2060 from 53.3 million now. In 2060 nearly one in three residents will be Hispanic, up from about one in six now. (People who identify themselves as Hispanic may be any race.) The black population is expected to increase to 61.8 million from 41.2 million over the same period, with its share of the population rising slightly. And the Asian population is expected to double, to 34.4 million in 2060 from 15.9 million now, with its share of the population climbing to 8.1 percent from 5.1 percent.

First of all, whether there is even a US by that point is heavily in doubt. 30 years from now, 46 years from now, or (LOL, way to move those goalposts) 141 years from now.

Secondly, there are 310+ million people right now. 128.8 million is not even half of the present population, let alone the population in 2060.

Third:

This all assumes the same historic or present growth of those demographic groups. But since this projected population growth relies so heavily on immigration and, for example, Asian immigration could slow to a trickle if (a) Asia becomes a more desirable place to live and (b) fertility rates continue to crater and the continent rapidly ages. Ditto for Latin American immigration. You may have heard that fertility rates in Mexico have fallen faster than just about anywhere else on the planet. So the future is more likely to be something like The Machine Stops, Oryx and Crake, or Children of Men than some stupid neo-Malthusian garbage movie starring MATT DAMON.

by that time attacking fracking will be old news, the UAE will try to be more direct, which of course means the movie will attack solar and wind power as dangerous sources of energy, and that we need to turn to fossil fuels after all.

I can see it now. Average joe MATT DAMON is suddenly stirred to political action after an endangered California condor is killed by a wind turbine. Marissa Tomei co-stars as a local barmaid and MATT DAMON's love interest while Alan Rickman plays the wind farm's nefarious CEO, Mitt Murdoch. Robert Redford's corpse directs.
