Who says they can't still do that stuff? Just because its Not streamed doesn't mean it can't be talked about

Really?? Are you telling me that you will not get all that info anyway. Will a conference really bring out any more info then MS making these statements, showing trailers and demos etc. With every bit of info duplicated on numerous sites, I higly doubt that MS will have any problems getting the info they want people to know out to people who want to know the info.
My opinion is that a conference is a long winded way of doing the same thing. I really do not want to watch a presentation for only 20% of the content I care about. Maybe I am the odd one.

They could still do it, never said that weren't/couldn't. However, with Sony's more publicized, it gets the word out in a presentation and has more people talking. It's all about the perspective of it, and right now, it means everything for MS to get a lot of it right. |
Well a guy from ms is doing the keynote speech so they could still give the information at the very beginning

That info may be available, sure, but with a presentation, seems like they could impact in a bigger way. It actually surprises me that they aren't doing a show, but then, if they have as much content as Sony, and as big of a dent, that would be impressive. It would mean the presentations are pointless, which at this point in time, I wouldn't believe. |
There is no maybe because MS already stated they were going to deliver this info at gamercon. I do not see how a presentation makes as big as an impact. Before Gamercons MS stated they will be making some type of presentation. This info will carry throughout Gamercons with interviews, demos live hands on etc. This is a more direct appoach. No watching a presentation to here about a company fluffing themselves before they get to info you are interested in.
Presentations get long winded. Most presentations have content you care little about and get bored until the company either talks about or show what you are interested in. Now this is my opinion as to how important conferences are to me. PS4 Reveal, Bored until a few tibits that interested me. MS reveal, Bored but for a few tibits. E3 PS4 bored for a few games. MS E3 actually watch the whole thing without getting bored because it was game after game with a lot of them interesting.
For Sony event, I only care about what exclusive games can i look forward to, what gaming features will the console provide, if any decent media features that I can use.
For MS, they already stated the media stuff and they stated that Gamerscon will be all about games so I am looking to see what other exclusives they have in the works. If there are any other gaming features I can look forward to. Hofully demostations of games stated but limited playable demos like Quantom Break and that Black Tusk game.
I am sure by the time Gamercon is over, no one will care about the conference but instead the information that both companies are prepared to deliver. Also I disagree that MS needs some conference. What they need is a positive direction for their console. The console race does not end when these console release. Both will be on the market for a long time and thus plenty of things will change during their existance. MS only need great games, great features and a positive direction to keep the system selling. One off conferences in the grand scheme of things really mean nothing.

Phil Spencer already said there is an unannounced game there and they have other exciting news.
