Well, I finished the game yesterday. Did 100% of the side missions and found all of the collectables. I have to say it was pretty ambitious and funny but it really began to drag. The music selection was surprisingly limited as was the radio chatter/banter. The side missions all turned into a combination of:
-Hack this store with the hacking mini game (that I hated)
-Go here and fight off some waves of enemies
-Steal this car and drive it from there to here
-Run from here to here with super-speed within a limited amount of time
-Go here and do as much damage as you can
Wash, rinse, repeat. I was bored out of my mind by the time it ended. There were a couple of fun diversions like the Mind Over Matter game where you use telekinesis and the Super Power battle royal thingy. The main missions were pretty great, though.
You know what's crazy? I can't argue that Grand Theft Auto 4 isn't the bettter quality title. It's polished all to hell and I suspect GTAV is going to raise the bar to unbelieveable levels. I've purchased Ballad of Gay Tony AND Lost and Damned. Haven't finished a single one. I plan on getting GTAV on day one or close to it, too. Probably won't finish that game, either. Meanwhile, I've blown through all four Saints Row titles like an addiction. They lack the content and the polish. SR4 was a glitch filled mess. I had to restart the game soooooo many times because it would freeze at random. And yet, if the two had released on the same day, I'd probably go with Saints Row.
