I don't get , are you people really prefer SR 3 over GTA IV !!!!
well , for me GTA IV >>>>>>>>>>>>>> SR3 + SR2
I mean the difference between them is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge in term of quality .

If you just look at gta IV it looks like a more polished game with better production values but when you actually try to pick up a controller and play it you will notice that the game is not high qulaity at all.

SR's shooting mechanics weren't great but they were still better than GTA IV's clunky cover based mechanics. The driving was also better. Pretty much everything having to do with gameplay was better in SR.

In terms of quality this is completely true. Just like the budget of GTA IV probably being the same as the budgets of SR2, 3 and 4 combined and then a bit more.

But in terms of fun, simple and ridiculous fun, SR2 and SR3 were miles ahead of the drama that was GTA IV.

GTA IV released 5 years ago and i still have fun playing it today , alot of people do , SR 3 released less than 2 years ago and very few still have fun playing it . Actually non of my friend or any one I know play it one year after the release , Don't want to discue SR 2 even though it released after GTA IV .

let's see if any one will play SR 3 (for fun) in 2016

I've played and completed both games (3 if you add Saints Row 2), and the only one that I still keep going back to have some fun is Saints Row 3. I admit that GTA IV is a better game, no one can deny that, but I look for fun and Saints Row 3 gives me a lot more fun that GTA IV.

Very few will play SR3 in 2016 with SR4 on the market, but the same can be said about GTA IV. After V and its online releases very few will keep playing it.

C'mon, thats not fair. GTA sold a gazillion copies, but it did that mostly on the strength of its name. Ofcourse there are going to be more people playing it. I'm sure you and your friends are probably playing the multiplayer where you can create your own fun, but in terms of the single player, few people completed it because it wasn't great.

SR gives you fun things to do, in GTA IV you have to find fun things on your own, but its still a problem for some.

Saints Row the third was worth buying for Deckers Die only man that mission was so awesome

ACE: Your point is well put. However that also shows why SR3 rocks. While it doesn't have a "deep story" it does take great pride in it's gameplay. From customizable and upgradable weapons that are just awesome, to the mini-games that rocked, to the missions that got crazier and crazier it was just a great game to play over and over again.

SR3 is the only Xbox game I own (and I don't even have an Xbox) and there many reasons for that. Mainly is because it was so much fun that if I wanted to play a game for thrills i'd borrow my cousins 360 and spend a weekend wrecking havoc in Steelport.

No, not yet. Waiting for that humble bundle ;o

Ooooh you cheap bastard

Well, I finished the game yesterday. Did 100% of the side missions and found all of the collectables. I have to say it was pretty ambitious and funny but it really began to drag. The music selection was surprisingly limited as was the radio chatter/banter. The side missions all turned into a combination of:

-Hack this store with the hacking mini game (that I hated)
-Go here and fight off some waves of enemies
-Steal this car and drive it from there to here
-Run from here to here with super-speed within a limited amount of time
-Go here and do as much damage as you can

Wash, rinse, repeat. I was bored out of my mind by the time it ended. There were a couple of fun diversions like the Mind Over Matter game where you use telekinesis and the Super Power battle royal thingy. The main missions were pretty great, though.

You know what's crazy?  I can't argue that Grand Theft Auto 4 isn't the bettter quality title.  It's polished all to hell and I suspect GTAV is going to raise the bar to unbelieveable levels.  I've purchased Ballad of Gay Tony AND Lost and Damned.  Haven't finished a single one.  I plan on getting GTAV on day one or close to it, too.  Probably won't finish that game, either.  Meanwhile, I've blown through all four Saints Row titles like an addiction.  They lack the content and the polish.  SR4 was a glitch filled mess.  I had to restart the game soooooo many times because it would freeze at random.  And yet, if the two had released on the same day, I'd probably go with Saints Row.
