no drilling :D it's a rental and I don't plan to stay around here much....
I have a snake bite (I think that's the name) stand for the kinect 1 on top of my TV currently.... and since the central speaker is for voice amplification it is best set up at viewers head level, and it is calibrated that way.... I don't want to have to work weird angles and have sound bounce back from the ground and redo my entire set up..... well I'll have to do it anyway if I move but still it is a pain in the ass lol
but I'd rather keep my sound system coherant, to me a high end sound system is even more important than a good HD TV in terms of immersion.... Since I have my system I advise everybody I know to put more money in the sound system than the TV.... (still advising full HD) but if you want to pick a 3K TV and 1K sound system (speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier) I would adviste you to take a 1.5K TV or smaller and get 2.5K sound system (well room size and usage is also an element and this is just an illustration, you can find good cheaper compromise) but people often forget that a good sound system (treated properly) will still be excellent 20 years from now... or more... it is a really long term investment just the amp might need to be changed to adapt to new technologies but still....
well anyway I want the kinect on top of the TV it will be the best spot for it for me my sound system and for it to track properly IMO.... I just would like to know in advance if I will be able to put it there out of the box or if I have to plan on buying a satnd at the same time and if there will be any.... or should I have a DIY project planed already to fit it on top of the TV like I did at first with the kinect .....

No drilling! No Drilling!
No problem! Use a Command Adhesive Shelf! (or two if you are worried about it.)
I actually have my Kinect mounted on my TV with some command adhesive hooks and a foamcore structure. Even when you turn the TV it stays in proper alignment. My friends say I should patent and sell it, lol.
I currently have a nice 5.1 surround sound system. I think when I upgraded to the 52 inch TV that it was just catching up! My friends say it's not like a movie theatre, but more like a drive in, as the thing is so freaking huge. But it's pretty much normal to me now, lol.
You should show your DIY Project that you used!
