Um what gameplay this gen wasn't possible on last gen systems?

Yeah something like the last of us wouldn't be the same since it relied so much on emotion, but the gameplay could be identical while having it look like an ok ps2 game.

My train of thought though is that games are much more than their gameplay mechanics. Hence I agree with Jaywood even though we're not conforming to the op's rules.

The level of fluid animation, mo-cap and scale would not have been possible on the PS2. The closest you would get to it would be RE4.

Zombi U, pikmin 3, Nintendoland, Wonderful 101, X...

Zombi U? I agree with the rest but Zombi U looks quite bad in my opinon!

All of those games could be accomplished in the current gen.

I like how no one read the OP. Everyone bringin up games like infamous which is a pretty version of the current iterations of the game. I would say Forza for the cloud based AI. Any Wii U games that make good use of the pad. Everything else is just pretty version of current gen games, and that is what we should expect. Its not every day that new game experiences can come out, just tweaks of current ideas that bring us to where we are today. Games will allow more people online, better AI and will push current ideas to new levels, but not reinvent the wheel for the most part.

roll your mouse to the top of the page and read the question. it mentions anything but graphics, wich would have to be downgraded for ps360 anyway. in case of X, a BIG downgrade.
