These two games never get talked about on here, which is understandable, but it's also a compelling reason to make a thread on them, so here it is!

Can Wii Fit U and Wii Party U start getting casual gamers (or w/e they're called) onboard the Wii U?
I'd think they'd atleast bring some casuals to the Wii U since it hasn't really offered anything for casuals thus far, but I really don't know, so that's why I'm asking!

Yes but I don't know how many. I'm not even sure if Wii Fit U can sell 10 million copies.
Doesn't 3DS have Brain Age app games? Do we know how well those do?

And since we're talking about Wii Fit... Would a Wii U sold with Wii controller plus and nunchuck and an improved balance board at a price of 350$ with Wii Fit U bundled sell more than the current Wii U?

No. Nintendo will need a new idea to do that... preferably one that proves the Gamepad as a game changer, seeing as how they designed their entire console around this concept. Better get to it, Nintendo.

depends on the marketing

Not nearly to the extent they did on Wii but I feel they will still sell a few million and get some people onboard.

To an extent, yes. Wii Fit will sell really well. The weight loss industry thrives on people trying the same solutions that failed them before. I could see Wii Party U doing well with good marketing.

I don't think so. I think the casual already played Wii Fit, their balance board have been collecting dust after they played like 3hours, and they won't feel the need to upgrade.

not very well last i checked, at least no where NEAR that of the DS games. IMHO i think that people figured their are much cheaper alternatives on phones and tablets or they just lost interest.

OT if these dont do it I dont know what will

It will be hard. Even the 3DS struggled with it. But I think now that we know it will not be the core system like so many wanted due to 3rd parties neglect and Nintendo mistakes casuals will get more attention. Will they remember how much fun this was? I hope so. But the 3DS did not try too hard and the Brain age game came when the system was in bad shape if I remember correctly.

I hope that it will change with the wii u. A home console for the family.

Isn't the 3DS a core system now? They tried casual stuff at first, didn't work, and now it's mostly about traditional games. I personally love the way the 3DS is now, so I secretly hope Wii Fit/Party U fail so the same can happen with Wii U. :L

Considering that shit like "Let's Dance" and whatever else "uber-casual" titles that still come out on Wii STILL sell in the millions of copies, then yes, I'd say that a healthy chunk of that audience is still there, and could indeed be lured by something like a Wii Fit U.
