Judging from the polls, it seems like most haven't. Maybe it's because I'm younger than the majority of people here, so I got scared more easily.

Nope to be honest, think i got it a few times actually (cant remember why) but my ps2 has always worked fine. i have the fat and people say they have had disk reading problems. luckily i never ran into any, lol actually my ps2 is right here. Under my WiiU, I use it as a kind of stand xD

More scared of the Disk Read Error screen and the sound of the dvd drive.. Squeeking to find and read the disc.... Damn you ps2 fat for breaking down that easily..

I had one PS2 fail on me. Sold it to a friend, went to play it for the first time and it had a permanent red light. Whoops.

DRE were the PS2's main problem. I experienced it on three separate occasions from three separate systems. Having said that, the PS2's library was so unbelievably amazing that we all just put up with it lol
