Diverted standards. Women have certain standards of men that men no longer want to meet, while men have certain standards of women that they no longer want to meet, so it is getting harder for the two to meet in the middle.

Namely, many on both sides are looking for the standard "middle class dream," of finding "a man with a good job to be the breadwinner" and a "housewife who will make a good home for the man and raise their children." Women want to be more career-oriented now than men want them to be, and men, ironically, want to be *less* career oriented now than women expect them to be.

Plus there is an insane degree of asexuality and/or mere romantic apathy going on in Japan right now, where a lot of both genders are just saying "fuck it, i have no interest in romance."

(a side note, this is why breadwinner guys from the West can do better in terms of finding Japanese women, as we've better adapted to the idea of a dual-breadwinner household, both meeting their expectations for men and indulging their more independent aspirations).

They need to get real girlfriends. They are dying out slowly from an aging population and if they die out they can no longer show weird and random shit like this.

1) Anthropology class i took during my study abroad semester, which focused on a number of contemporary social issues in Japan, including shifts in the ideal male and female roles. This also contributes to Japan's low birth-rate, as there is strong pressure on mothers to give up their jobs to raise their children, so Japanese women just don't have kids to focus on their career instead. If a daycare upbringing were less stigmatized, surely there'd be more women willing to have kids.

2) Yes. Just watch out for gold-diggers, as a lot of Japanese women are under the delusion that all Westerners are rich.

If most of those guys in the video just toughen up their attitude, live their live with less pessimism and actually start talking to girls they would have girlfriends.

Finding a girlfriend is not even remotely difficult if you have a bit of self esteem to begin with. Anyone with decent looks and a good personality is capable of finding a good company.

The youth in Japan and most other asian countries suffer from lack of self esteem and the vigor to stand up for themselves. I would blame it on the way they were brought up (mostly the culture, oppressive parents) and on their pop culture (manga/anime/kpop), most of the young men over there seem....sexually distracted.
