VGChartz will be fine, just as long as ignorant people dont assume the numbers include digital.
VGChartz is retail tracking.

What a strangely worded topic.
Is your issue to do with Alan Wake for 360 being undertracked in the DB?
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/13817/alan-wake/
In which case I disagree; the tracking looks fine to me. VGChartz tracks physical sales and your OP says 3 million across the franchise including digital & PC sales. 1.2m for the first game looks fine to me.
Is your issue to do with Alan Wake for PC being undertracked in the DB?
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/13818/alan-wake/
In which case yes, it may well be. But you'll have to get in line behind just about every other PC game which has poorly tracked physical sales here.
Is your issue to do with undertracked games in general? Remember, again, VGChartz tracks physical sales. In which case, it might be worth turning this thread into another "here are a list of games which are undertracked in the DB" with some proof backing up why each game is undertracked. Barozi made such a thread a while back but I can't seem to find it at the moment. But let me say - Alan Wake would be the least of those problems at the minute. The legions of 360 games with their European sales removed should be top priority.
Is your issue to do with the fact that digital sales aren't tracked here? In which case, what was wrong with posting this again in the last topic you made about this:

I'd imagine responses would largely be the same this time around too. It's something the site desperately needs but it'll take a long time to implement. And given that we have such a hit-and-miss database regarding physical sales in the first place, I'm not sure how it'd pan out to be honest.

I already asked for the thread to be locked so please do so if you will? :)
My problem is not with Alan Wake in particular. The X360 version looks fine. It is missing the other 1.80 in digital sales which I assume includes The Signal, The Writer, and the PC version.
Other games could be brought up with similar issues. I used this as an example because it is coming straight from the developers mouth. As time goes on I expect more issues like this. 3DS for example keeps talking about how their eshop is doing fantastic.
Oh, and OP has asked for this thread to be locked as well.
