What minority? I'm genuinely confused as to who they aimed this console at!!!

That's the problem. It's confusing, they tried to go with the hardcore and casual crowd. They failed because that, you can't appease the two crowds with one console.

True. Kinect sold well but that dosen't mean the x360 is regarded as a casual console.

Iwata said "Following and imitating others is the kind of reasoning that Nintendo tries to avoid the most".

While I respect this stance the only other alternative to "copying" is inovation, and that in itself is always a gamble.

Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities forecasts 6 million WiiU shipments this fiscal year.

Eiji Maeda, an analyst at SMBC Nikko Securities Inc forecasts 6,5 million WiiU shipments this fiscal year.

Hideki Yasuda, an analyst at Ace Research Institute in Tokyo, forecasts Wii U shipments of 6 million this fiscal year.

If Nintendo shipped 3 million last fiscal, it would mean a total of 9 million Wii U shipments lifetime by March 31 2014.

Still way to high, they must be expecting 4m this holiday and 1.5m Q1.

I'm guessing they're taking into account Nintendos recent increased marketing efforts, traditional Nintendo holiday sales surge, and perhaps Mario Kart 8 in March. As usual, the journalists somehow fail to ask why their prediction all lands on 6 mill to 6,5 millXD

The Wii U has over 63% market share in the Home Consoles Market. Plus the US & Japanese markets can't be ignored. Nintendo always starts slow in Europe as the Wii has shown back in the day.

Ok guys, it's time to say good bye for a while
gonna come back sometime in 2014 =)
