For gamers like me that is the best PS3 model... It's a pity that Sony just released it now.
A PS4 without HDD at launch will be the best model for me but I'm sure Sony will never do that

lol I think that is how much GT5 takes up on my PS3. What a waste of time 12GB is on a console requiring so many mandatory installs.

And? You have 12GB... you can play all PS3 games... no restriction. |
Of course not. But you may have to shovel data on and off to the tiny storage.
You can put it how you want the 12G-version is crap, just like the 360-arcade, in my opinion.

GT5 full install is 6.5GB plus patches (I have the GT5 Standard Edition... so I had installed all patchs... 11GB total... the others Editions uses less GB).
So like I said, it's as much space as GT5 uses. Waste of time buying this. I think this would piss a lot of people off who don't know how much installing you need to do on PS3.

I prefer this model over any other PS3 model in the market... I think I will use my original PS3 HDD like a paperweight.
If for any reason my PS3 died I will buy that model... I don't need or want any crap PS3 HDD.

I appreciate it from Nintendo.
I think the companies can give choice for all type of guys because the bundled HDD in any console is useless for me.
PS. I never played GT5 with the bundled HDD... so I never suffer with this game loadtimes... most tracks here load in 10-15 seconds.

For most people, yes. But in some cases, it is perfectly fine. I bought myself a 12 GB PS3 some months ago and put a 1 TB drive into it. Because it uses standard drives, that upgrade is dirt cheap. And I will use that very 1 TB drive for the PS4 once it comes out. The 500 GB drive from the PS4 will then walk into my PS3 and everythings cool. :)
What I'm trying to say is: The 12 GB is just an option, there are still 500 GB PS3s for everyone who doesn't want it. And as a option, I think it's not all that bad. Especially since you can upgrade the HDD yourself, you can basically get a 1 TB PS3 for the same price as a 500 GB model. With the Xbox 360, the Core/Arcade Models are just so bad because the hard drives are as ridiculously expensive as Vita memory cards.

Can't believe it hasn't released in the US yet. It's significantly cheaper than the other models in the UK.

| Dahum said: i think by now the PS3 12GB should release to the US at 149$ tbh and the 500GB should get a price cut to 199$ since the super slim hardware is cheap to produce obviously. |
I don't think they'll be that severe. Judging by the GTA bundle ($60 game, 1 month of Plus, and a 500gb PS3) being $270 I think it's safe to assume that the 500gb will get a price cut to $250 before that game releases (since the 500gb is $300 by itself that wouldn't make much sense to buy that one). That would knock the 250gb to $200 and if the 12gb model is really coming then I'm guessing it's either $200 with a game or $150-170
