Forums - Microsoft - This is How Xbox One's Game and Gold Sharing Works

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/09/this-is-how-xbox-ones-game-and-gold-sharing-works

Anyone can access digital library via your Xbox One and use their Gamertag to play it. The license is tied to the hardware rather than the original purchaser alone. That said, you can also play and share games on other Xbox One consoles, and any purchases made on a friend's Xbox will be available on your primary console as well. Similar to DVR functionality and Skype, you will need Xbox Live Gold to share your digital games.

here is another site talking about the same thing but gives alittle more information  http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-one-digital-games-and-live-gold

well, it's a thread with good xb1 news, don't expect to get many replies azerth

So, another opinion piece(if you followed the link) about how this will all work. It sounds good - unless you upgrade you XBone to some new version 2 years from now. Going to get the XBone, but i will probably have to wait until 2 weeks after launch to know what the policies are going to be...

Same as Xbox 360 it seems only you can share Gold now, and buying games on a friends console might not keep that content on that console.

A shame they got rid of the online stuff, the family share is way better than this.

Im a bit confused about this... Does that mean i can link my account to 2 different consoles?
@allard its hard to say if family sharing would have been better as nothing was ever confirmed about how it would work... Consider strodinger's cat.

This is a great new feature. It will save a lot of money in the long run especially if you have multiple gold accounts on a system. Good news after good news from MS lately.

That's not really sharing is it? You can access your account from a different box, which you can do already?
Anyone can already share my games on my 360, I guess now they can do it while getting achievements on their own gamer tag.

The question is, can you use your gold subscription on a different xbox one, while one of your family members uses gold on your xbox one. The second link suggests it's either or, not at the same time. So if you have 2 xbox ones, you'll still need 2 live accounts when one family member wants to watch Netflix while you play online on the other box.

so games and live are tied to the hardware?

Family share was better, but cant complain

It sounds like DRM locked to the system similiar to what the 360 is now.

When you load your profile to a new system you have to use a transfer system tool on xbox.com and link all your DRM to the new system, that way you can access games on your console under any profile without having to sign in. Except this time around Gold is shared across the entire console.

Gold being free on the console is the only good news, outside of that It's exactly like the 360.

It's just that simple.
