Forums - Nintendo - Wii U bundle ideas

To me what would need imediatte refresh would be the screen size, controller range and storage.

A 100GB unit, coupled with a more smooth designed controller with a 8-inch screen.

- more space out of the box to download stuff
- bigger screen would make it way better for watching VOD and gaming off-TV. Really nice for parents.
- range for full house wireless cover.

New Bundle: 128 GB Starter Kit ($399) (2015)

Includes:

-128 GB Wii U
-Wii U Gamepad with better battery
-Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuck
-2 Pro Controller

Meh...it'd work..maybe

2 pro controllers, Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuck, better battery in controller and an increase of 96 GB of memory for only a $50 price increase?  If they did that bundle it would probably be $450 or more.

i would say put 60 dollars in eshop credit and maybe keep nintendo land in the deluxe bundle

$60 is a bit much. I'd say $30 and a 300 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive with some Nintendo artwork slapped on it. You can give it a stand and put it next to the Wii U like you knew what you were doing to begin with.

Speaking of eShop, though, it'd be awesome if they put up a fair number of their older Wii games up on the eShop at or below their used game prices. Considering that even for Nintendo games older than about 2009 are basically dead in the market, sales on a discount is basically free money. And I'm sure Xenoblade Chronicles on the eShop would sell some Wii U units. That game is fetching $250 on some parts of the internet.

I honestly don't see the point of this or with a marginally bigger SSD.  Why slap the consumer with the cost of something that some will never use, particularly in Nintendo's usual demographic.

If you are going entirely digital in the next generation  you are likely going to need more than 32, more than 64 and likely more than even 128gb.  Lego City Undercover was 22gb! Buy a hard drive of your own choosing, 50 dollars with get you a 300gb drive, if you think that's too much storage then you can pay even less.  Or if you are like plenty of people you don't have to pay anything extra because you already have a hard drive around the house that you can use.

I'm all for options on the software front but forcing potentially unecessary hardware into an SKU which is going to be overpriced by the time it hits market, due to the falling cost of storage prices, doesn't make sense.
