Forums - PC - Nvidia Shield looks pretty awesome at $250 (EDIT $300)

Loving the 1 to 1 realtime and the fact that I can play PC games on a handheld like Dark Souls, Skyrim, Bioshock, Tomb Raider etc.  Also being the same price as the Vita with a much bigger library is pretty cool.  While it isn't as portable as the Vita it would still be nice to play these games while laying down.

I've heard that the streaming doesn't work quite as well as it should.

Damn, this costs the same as the Vita? Actually even less so if you think about it.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

But what is the big idea? You need to connect it to a PC. I see no point in this! Isn't it better to just use a controller?

It connects wirelessly.  So you could be across the house and play games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, Trials Evolution etc in your bed.

Kind of like the remote play that people talk up for the Vita.

Wii U. Thought people hated off tv play. What gives?

Not sure about people saying that, or at least I havent said that.  I like my WiiU's off TV play and play on the tablet instead of my TV when i have the option.

Well everyone insinuates that Wii U is too expensive because of the useless features of the gamepad. This device is an accessory that costs almost same as the entire console. All it really does is stream content. Sure someone is going to see value in it but i just don't see what's so magical about it. The reviewer was like i don't know how it does that. Well something that came out months ago does the same.

Let's see how the PC master race embraces it though.

Well to be fair the Nvidia Shield streams more games than the gamepad and also does emulators.  The gamepad on the other hand may get gimmicky features like point your controller at your TV for a light.  The Shield is soley a Streaming Device for PC games with added features.  The Gamepad is a second screen.  Only some games use it as streaming.

Also I would recommend editing your second paragraph before you get yourself banned(Not sure if it is against the rules but I assume it is).  I will edit this once you fix it.

Don't see what's wrong there. How would someone take that as an offense is beyond me but if they do. Power to them or me since i also game on pc.

Too expensive for a non-portable.
