Forums - PC - Nvidia Shield looks pretty awesome at $250 (EDIT $300)

PC Master race would rather play on a laptop that can game decently XD (well at least I would).

Not sure about the Shield, doesnt seem to be too impressive - would rather invest on a laptop (which may be more expensive but the money can go towards it) or a Vita/3DS personally.

Well you can't really use that with your 7850. You'll need to buy a nvidia card to do the streaming part. You Wom..

But what is the big idea? You need to connect it to a PC. I see no point in this! Isn't it better to just use a controller?

It connects wirelessly.  So you could be across the house and play games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, Trials Evolution etc in your bed.

Kind of like the remote play that people talk up for the Vita.

Sorry for the late reply! Yeah I don't understand that funcion on the Vita too... It seems so useless. But at least you can carry the vita to the streets!

Haha No worries lol :)

I've always liked the Remote Play Features myself.  Though I don't take my handhelds anywhere so for the people who do may not care for them.

$3000 for a gaming PC + $250 for this = $3250 total.

I like the concept here. Would be nice to know how the screen looks and its specifications.

5-inch, 720p @ 294ppi, multi-touch touchscreen, 2GB ram and Tegra 4. You can play angry birds on it and make skype calls too.

Yeah a few days before launch they dropped the price $50. That's probably where the confusion came from.

Also the day before launch they pushed it back a month due to bad hardware or something. My local nerdstore didn't care lol. They started selling them before the price cut even. It looked really dorky in its plastic stand but was positioned in the build your own pc section. A fair amount of people noticed it.
