I would'nt buy it. I just don't have no interest in a vita. I'm not really into handhelds. I have a 3DS that I havent played in months. It has good games on it,but I just can't seem to get into handhelds. I prefer to play on the big screen. It's just so much better.
I have a Vita so for me no. But Sony could sell remote play and an awesome handheld for the same price as Xbone with a Kinect that nobody really wants.
I already have a Vita, but if I didn't I would certainly get this. It is a good system. Also Blackgate is coming out for it soon. The new firmware update that came out for it last Tuesday greatly improved certain things with its user interface also. Best firmware update that has come out for it since I picked one up...

I'm glad someone said it. I don't know much about VITA, but just based off of MSRP $500 is not going to happen. And if it does, in for 20.
Thats a pipe dream, they may as well drop the Vita price to 99$ since they are willing to lost 150$

Wasn't there news about 3G Vita's BOM cost as $150 minus the manufacturing cost on January 2012?
It could've gone down a year after that. We don't really know. It's possible as long as the Vita's BOM is down.

Yes, most of Vita components, except the screen that was better than average, and the gaming specific components, were, at launch time, mid range smartphone tech, so they should have dropped in price considerably in one year. Curiously some people suffer from selective blindness to the laws of electronics components pricing when they apply to PS3 and PSV.
Also, given the prices of two items, if its producer decides to bundle them, the price of the bundle is almost always smaller than the sum of the single prices, so, when PS4 will be $400 and PSV $200, $550 will be a reasonable price for the bundle, but when PSV will be around $150, the reasonable price of the bundle, if PS4 will still be full priced, will be $500. So maybe the bundle could still be priced $550 if it will be launched early, but it should drop to $500 quite soon.
I suppose it's a good deal IF you wanted both to begin with but, why would anyone want the Vita? I mean, I have a PS4 launch day preorder secured, but I wouldn't want a Vita as I have a 3DS XL and really, why would anyone need anything more than that? The only reason I can see someone wanting a Vita is taste of games but really, most AAA Vita games are just PS3 like games on a small screen. I just don't get it.
