Yes, most of Vita components, except the screen that was better than average, and the gaming specific components, were, at launch time, mid range smartphone tech, so they should have dropped in price considerably in one year. Curiously some people suffer from selective blindness to the laws of electronics components pricing when they apply to PS3 and PSV.
Also, given the prices of two items, if its producer decides to bundle them, the price of the bundle is almost always smaller than the sum of the single prices, so, when PS4 will be $400 and PSV $200, $550 will be a reasonable price for the bundle, but when PSV will be around $150, the reasonable price of the bundle, if PS4 will still be full priced, will be $500. So maybe the bundle could still be priced $550 if it will be launched early, but it should drop to $500 quite soon.
