If the US had these crazy Canadian Wii U deals you wouldn't be able to go buy one because all the resellers wouldn't have got them long before you the news hit they were $150.  From my experience with the resellers where I live in Florida, they know atleast one person from many of these stores and if you go down there the second you hear the news, they'll still be out of stock.

Before Circuit City stores closed down they used to do some amazing clearance sales.  Unfortunately, either the employees or someone they knew got anything and everything worth something.  One time I was going to go there a couple days early and buy the games I was interested in due to the clearance lists always going up early, then go back and return them the week of the sale and rebuy them at the cheaper price.  They had all the clearance  games on a cart, so I took a bunch I was interested in, went to the counter, they said they weren't able to sell those.  I asked why not and they said thtey were holding them for someone to purchase.  When I took it to the store manager that they were holding items that were going to be clearanced out for someone else to sell, or for them to sell, I got brushed off and still didn't get to purchase the items.  Sale or not, I never stepped in Circuit City again and later on they went bankrupt.

It's like this in most stores around where I live.  Resellers who pull tactics like this are douchebags.

Wow, that is quite ridiculous. I've experienced something being "held" for someone before as well. You would think the least they could do is put it behind the counter or out of sight so you won't be tempted to want it.

However, there are a load of places I could buy a Wii U on sale in the area I live. Do you happen to live around/in Orlando? I think I could find somewhere to buy a 150$ Wii U in this area...

Basic is done here in Canada.

I should buy this and sell it on Amazon as brand new and get a $150 dollar profit. Seems like a great plan. I could use that money to buy stupid stuff unrelated to gaming.

Edit:Looks like someone would be mad at me if I did that. Well too bad this is a capitalistic economy and it is totally legal to do this. mwhaha

ARGH WHY arent they region free!

If you're in North America a Candian Wii U should work with any North American Wii U game.

Dang, should've clicked on his profile. Well Wii U was hacked, so maybe there will be one that removes region locking. That might take a while though.

I'm near the panhandle next to Alabama.  So not near any of the major cities.

I can find some decent deals on the Wii U on Craigslist, though.  Around $200 is the best deal I've found last time I checked.  Still not getting it until Smash Bros comes out, but maybe will jump on it if I find a really good deal.

Ouch. Yeah, the Panhandle is definitely not the "happening" part of Florida. When compared to Central Florida, at least.

I've never actually dealt with anything on Craigslist. It seems sketchy, from what I've heard.
