Forums - Website Topics - I need a bit help with Paypal / / Ebay.

Well, guys, here I am, asking for help! If you've checked my profile recently, you've noticed that I am jealous of a friend who happens to own some weird copy of Lost Odyssey.

Well, just checked Ebay and found this.

I want to purchase it; however, my experiences with Ebay and Paypal are zero. I need some tips.

a) I've just created both Paypal and Ebay accounts, and linked them. Is there anything I should know before proceeding?

b) If I bid for the item, and win, how do I pay for it then? The money is deducted from my credit card or I need to do something else? (I've only linked my credit card to my paypal account, not my bank account).

c) How long does it take to receive the item after I've payed for it?

I think that's all for now. I'm pretty insecure about this.

Looks like an Asian (Hong Kong, usually) release of LO. Japanese boxart - English game. Also, what does make it a LE? There are no extras there, it seems. Also no CERO rating, the quivalent of the ESRB in Japan, pushing me closer to HK.

a) nothing special you need to know. Perhaps that your shipping and billing addresses should be the same, some sellers want that, and won't ship unless they are identical.

b) if paypal account has direct access to CC (they usually do), then straight from CC it goes. Though, you'd best read paypal faqs to know for sure. I registered way back when - in 2006.

c) ask the seller. the listing seems to note 7-13 days just looking at it... though all I know in Spanish is graçias.

Once you pay with Paypal it just depends on how long they take to ship it. You should get it within a week though if it's in the same country you're in.

You don't have to put your bank account on file, but if you do, your account is then verified so it doesn't charge the person accepting a certain amount if they're a seller. Or if transfering $5 as a personal transaction, it'll charge additional to do that not being verified. Placing your bank account on file they deposit two small amounts between $.01 and $.10 cents into your account and you have to verify those two amounts with Paypal.

It's actually a good service to use altogether and not just through Ebay. Newegg, Best Buy, Humble Bundle, Steam, etc. A lot of different retailers use Paypal so you won't have to keep putting your card/account online and won't need to have your card/account listed in multiple places if by some chance your password at one of those places gets stolen. .

Yeah. This ain't a special edition, however, I'm in love with the box case and the Japanese boxart. It is from Hong Kong.

a) Done.

b) Then I don't need to put the money on the card, but it just take it out of the card? My paypal account says it has 0 euros.

c) Yeah, he wrote 7-13 days. However, the man is Italian, not Spanish xD

Could you explain me a bit more the bolded part?

Almost always, the access to the CC is direct. That is, you don't need to put funds to that paypal account to buy things. It's at $0 for me, and I can buy easily - just goes straight off my CC.

...the best way, frankly, is buying it to know.. if the payment doesn't go through, it'll tell you so. About the verified thing... I've been verified for so long that I simply don't know anything about what Kupomogli said :P

Edit: It's ebay.es, after all all the technical things (outside of seller notes) such as shipping times and so on seem to be in Spanish.

Well, I just bid. An uncle of mine is also checking the progress of the bidding and explaining me some things about Ebay. I think I should be good. Let's just hope everything goes smoothly xD

Is it true that if I win the bidding, I can contact this man to chat before finishing the transaction?

Yes.

And even before that.

Nice. Everything's set then. I'm crossing my fingers.

@Xen and kupomogli, thank you very much! I'm in debt with both of you (?).
